Ideas and Possibilities for 2021

Never understood why people bother making suggestions this late in the day to be frank.

The list has likely already been agreed upon and finalised!

Although a question for the committee may well be has the usual pub meet being replaced with a video conference or did you find another way to do it?

There is a committee for this shit? I thought it was just you and your mum and a copy of the Sun On Sunday.

Yes there's a committee for this stuff who have likely already drafted the list. Also I prefer attitude and tend not to gloss the pages (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) in sight of my mother...

And I have nothing to do with it.

Longterm DDP-holics of the forum will be aware of my long running trend: dropping people who swiftly die the next year.

The Curse of Pan Breed, Resume:

2020 - Lee Kerslake

2019 - Philomena Lynott, Steffan Lewis, Carl Piddington

2018 - Colin Butts, Simon Ricketts

2017 - Keith Farnham

2016 - Caroline Aherne, Asa Briggs

2015 - Chris Woodhead, George Cole

2014 - Derek Martinus, Sandy Jardine, Jaruzelski

2013 - Glafcos Clerides, Ronald Coase

So, Merry Christmas, the following eight people will be dropped by Pan Breed in 2021:

Hamish Barbour - will QO due to wife, passes fame bar due to BBC4 work, seems a lingerer but who knows with Stage IV cancer?

Bernadette Chirac - still old and frail but got tired with her, went for new names

Lars Hogh - keeps getting pancreatic cancer, will have final downturn at some point, gambling on it not being 2021.

Peter Schjeldahl - Was a punt pick.

Vic Seixas - housebound seems less unique than it did in January...

Gianluca Vialli

Jean Louis Trintignant - Bored with this pick. Probably doomed him

Yoo Sang-Chul - OK, he didn't have the type of Stage IV pancreatic cancer that kills you inside a year. I have gambled he has the Johnny Clegg style which would see him die in 2022. If he has the "18 months average" type, which is *equally* possible right now, then this is a bit of a fuck up. Previous attempts at this (Lewis, Jardine) have fucked up, proof deadpoolers never learn.

Looking forward to the 2021 DeathList! I have been around since the 2016 DeathList but only joined this year and after the absolute massacre of celebrities in 2020 thanks to COVID I cannot wait to see which celebrities will be selected for 2021.

Dennis Skinner for the 2021 deathlist? Will be 89 and has been pretty much invisible since before he lost his seat over a year ago now - this followed an operation he had. Sadly can't see him living much past 90

Vesa-Matti Loiri, Finnish actor and comedian known for the role of Uuno Turhapuro. He's going to be 76 in a week and has smoked since his teenage and probably still smokes and uses alcohol (at one point used a bottle of vodka a day). He has used a ton of drugs, including hashish, peyote mescaline, poisonous mushrooms and other drugs, has had mental health problems and has tried suicide multiple times.

Has been in a wheelchair for quite long times (not currently) and was once over 150kg (330 pounds) after having operations, has hypertension, diabetes and sleep apnea. Despite all of this he has outlived two of his former wives and two of his sons. How long does he still have?

Absolutely comedy gold.

Could book yourself a night at The Comedy Store with that, oh wait....

Here's an updated list of immortals who escaped (?) 2020:

9)Monica Vitti (1931)/Joanne Woodward (1930)/Carmen Sevilla (1930). Their resistance to Alzheimer's is incredible. Vitti has had a neurodegenerative illness for 17 years and counting, the other are above 10 years (not sure about Woodward).

I'll continue when other spring to mind.

Apparently Carmen Sevilla died in October weeks short of her 90th bday

The only living person who has a QO. Ridiculously high quality journalism from the Sun.

She's still alive. UK tabloids ran with a hoax report of her death - there was also a Mirror article about her "death" that was changed to an "actually Carmen Sevilla is still alive" article once drol brought attention to it on here.

Just been watching Antiques Roadshow and seen that David Battie (78) who has been an expert on the show for 40+ years has left. My mum says he apparently has been unwell recently. Also the other experts and Fiona Bruce did video goodbyes like they would never see him again or something. It will be on Iplayer now (it is the last 5 minutes).

Yeah, how about him - long-listed him - provisionally #2 on my HPDP team - on your recommendation, almost a good call!

I know I put him on most of my lists but I wouldn't actually put him on the DL if you want a 50/50. He's just on mine for fun.

I always pick a cricketer so am going for Alan Burgess who, at  100, is the oldest surviving first class cricketer. I recently read an article about Patrick Patterson who is approaching 60 and has suffered with mental health issues for a few years. A bit of a long shot admittedly

Eileen Ash played international cricket and she's 109
