6 pointsBoth of those count. Poor old Bill, though he knew his days were numbered. Anyhow, he were a writer and his words will live on, or something like that. His death does a whole lot of things to the scoreboard. First up, Gcreptile adds to his lead, and has some breathing space. Rad also adds to his score, and at this point you have to fear for Biblio's chances. Book's valiant defence against 2016 DDP runner up Captain Chorizo finally ends, and The Dead Cow opens up a 7 point lead on Pedro. You can't count him out, yet, but no one has come back from a 7 point deficit in the short history of the Deathlist Cup... so far. Joey and Grim both score, and are on course as it stands for a grudge rematch in Round 2, with Joey suprisingly efficiently reaching another 7 point margin against much respected deadpooler Garn, and Grim now leading after an early scare. Who's left? Oh yes, it's me!!! I lead for the first time ever in my own Cup. Will it last? I doubt it, but it'll be fun for now! Only three matches remain goalless. YWillz v Engineer, though surely some of their picks must be fairly doddery by now. And Deathray v Sir Creep. Where are those dead certs university presidents? And most surprising of all, Rover is still holding Spade to a draw. Surely I'm not going to have to get a coin out for a "penalty shootout" again? And if so, will Mrs msc mock the shit out of me again? Yes. Yes she will. 1. Charon (Unrepentant) vs Maryportfuncity (Inter Youngboys FC) 3-0 2. Pedro (Trottingbum Hotsores) vs The Dead Cow 3-10 3. Young Willz (Glasgow Ron Weasley Ed Sheeran Slash Fanfiction Thistle Wanderers United) vs The Engineer 0-0 4. Grim Up North (Going Going GUN) vs Yorkshire Banker 6-3 5. Msc vs Wormfarmer 3-0 6. Spade Cooley (Great Railway Journeys with Hughie Gallacher and Robert Enke) vs Roverandout 0-0 7. Joey Russ vs Garn (Video Assistant Reaper) 7-0 8. Bibliogryphon (Bye Bye Biblio) vs Phantom of the Midway (AKA Rad Guy) 0-6 9. Sean (Shaun of the Dead’s Magical Funeral Parlour) vs Fixed Business (Business Fixed) 3-0 10. Gcreptile (The eaten tide pods) vs John Key 7-3 11. Deathray (First In, First Out and Never Invited to an Orgy Again) vs Sir Creep (The Month-to-Month Tenants) 0-0 12. Captain Chorizo vs Book (Never Heard of Soccer) 3-0

4 pointsYeah, well I never mentioned the dying family friend in advance (though charon twigged quickly who it was), same as Toast never mentioned her pal. Likewise, I've not mentioned my old pal, who is BBC obit levels of fame, who is sadly rapidly deteriorating. Because, you know, it's quite sad to see, and fuck it, there's lot of other options for everyone here. And obviously wont be picking them either. My ethics are fairly cemented: no weans, no "cancer mums", FFBI types need to have some interest in their own right. No ethics against picking death row folk, it just feels unsporting.

2 pointsFormer National League Rookie of the Year Wally Moon, who played on three World Series-winning teams with the Los Angeles Dodgers, has died. He was 87. Moon played for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1954-58 and was named NL Rookie of the Year in 1954, when he batted .304 with 12 homers and 76 RBI. But more importantly -- THE GREATEST UNIBROW OF ALL TIME!!! SC

1 pointNot really, considering that a certain amount of people chose him for the deathlist cup, and that he was on three death race teams...

1 pointDon't think my boys have the cut-throat mentality for a cup competition, hence why DQSP has always favoured the league. I'm like the anti-Ancelotti.

1 pointWatch the Winter Olympics. In particular the 2-person Mexican alpine ski team (Rodolfo Dickson and Sarah Schleper), who has these bad-ass outfits. WANT!

1 pointIs this not the most embarrassing and cringest things you ever did see? This is up there for me as one of the most craziest things a lefty has said. This guy is like an ultra cuck at this point he has become so cucked his testicles have retreated into his body and turned into ovaries.

1 pointEssentially, yeah. Or, to try and put it slightly more clearly in Leah's inimitable prosy style: I was lying in my Shaman friend's tipi enrobed in rags stylish looking like a fucking 15th century clairvoyant then he came in found me composing my shit told me impassioned let's perform carnal happy fun times neath the scintillating night sky stars glistening glimmering dancing spectating the bloody perverts behold we connect like Katie Hopkins that time with her ex in that field fear rises in my belly hoping no one nearby is brandishing a camera

1 pointI was wondering why on Earth a search for that name only turned up someone who died years ago.

1 pointIf you thought that was bad, turns out my pick Robert Loughlin died in 2011! I picked him on the basis of this tweet and Instagram post, which suggested he had weeks to live. I'm a fucking idiot.

1 pointRobert Plant at the Royal Albert Hall last night. Loved it. He has a very good band of multi-instrumentalists, plus on this tour Seth Lakeman on violin. And a treat which I was not expecting I wasn't surprised when Chrissie came out as she duets on one of the songs on Robert's album. But this was an extra and particularly welcome as it wasn't played when I saw The Pretenders a few weeks ago. Robert does a few LZ songs but doesn't go very far back into his own catalogue, which is a shame as I would love to hear Big Log or 29 Palms.
