2 pointsHe reminds me of long dead Jeremy Bentham, who gets dragged out of his cabinet for special occasions, the expression and tanned skin looks very similar!

1 point@msc did a survivor analysis of some of the top contenders survivors around the midpoint of the year, so I decided to do the same. I made it to include anyone in the current top ten along with a few other special interest names, and I try to be as unbiased as possible. List in spolier: So, if we take all the people I put as an 7.5 or higher in likelihood, and assume that David Shutts obit and Vervoort goes the natural route, the scoreline would look like this:

1 pointIf a judge has applied reporting restrictions, then it is criminal offence to ignore this ruling. That offence is called contempt of court. Your inability to grasp the basics detracts hugely from the rest of your argument.

1 pointLennon/Robinson/CokedUpChav was sent down for contempt of court, while serving a suspended sentence for contempt of court. He's not a hero, he's not a journalist and he's not a martyr. He's a bigot and an idiot. If his actions had caused a mistrial, then it is likely that vulnerable female victims of sexual abuse would not have received justice. A point seemingly lost on the man himself, who is too busy trying to promote his own warped populist agenda to take anyone else's needs into consideration.

1 pointTaking this away from the Nerds thread, the Atari was the first console we had, which was a joint Christmas present between me and my brothers. I had a ZX Spectrum (long gone) and my brother had a Commodore 64 (which is still in OldWillz's attic). I had a SNES too, but god alone knows where that is. Amazing to think of the simplicity of those games, which didn't really encourage us to sit in front of them for hours on end. Well, you couldn't really, we had one telly so we could only use them when we were allowed. The stunning games I have on Xbox One now, it's no wonder kids today love to sit in front of them....

1 pointI voted for Jack Schmitt, but ideally the world will get its act together and send more men to the Moon before the last of the original twelve leaves us.

1 pointNot so much listen as watch in awe. Queen at Wembley 1986. Haven't watched this video for years and it's one of those videos that just leaves you standing aghast, the way Freddie Mercury interacts with the crowd is astonishing and it's one of the best Queen set-lists you could ever wish to see, as is the crowd participation. There's an absolutely incredible bit in the middle which is just him getting the crowd to sing nonsense back to him (well vocal exercises, but it sounds like nonsense), only he could pull it off in quite that fashion and get so many involved. I now know where I'm going if I ever come across a time machine and some covers of a few rock classics.... Inb4 one of the old farts on here makes me really jealous by telling me they were there....

1 pointAh, old people and cars... they just don't know when to stop. I did some work with Age UK a few months ago. One day I had to work with this lovely couple who're the same ages as Pearl Carr and Teddy Johnson - Pearl was in the early stages of dementia and Teddy had to ferry her around everywhere. I had to supervise Teddy going to a doctor's appointment and he obeyed all the rules of the road but Jesus Christ, it was like the car was moving in slow motion. 5th gear at 10mph in a Picasso is a sound I'll never forget. The doctor tells him his osteoarthritis has got worse in both his legs and what does he do? Aye, that's right, he hops back in the car! So for the next 10 minutes I'm at the mercy of a 97yo shortarse who can't see over the steering wheel and who's been declared unfit to drive! About 2 weeks later he got his car taken off him and immediately came to me to complain about the system being out to snare vulnerable oldies in a bid to snatch their freedom. There isn't much you can do other than nod, pretend they're right and take a sigh of relief that another one of them's off the road for good.

1 pointAlan Bean's death reminded me of this great song today: Yeah, I know that it's about Andy Kaufman, but it's still a great song... EDIT: I'm listening to the album again and it reminds me on how good it is...

1 pointJust made some minor improvements there. Also find it mildly amusing (and, credit to you, intriguing) that a 'Summer 2018' playlist would consist of songs that are largely 40+ years old

1 pointSomehow in all the excitement, I missed the fact that Charles Neville had died. So not the first hit of Scavenger Hunt Bingo 2.0 but an early hit nonetheless! And already the field is shortening...could be much shorter than the last one - or go on for even longer. Love the Scavenger Hunt!
