7 pointsSo tonight I told myself at 10 pm: I will finally watch a Kirk Douglas while he's still with us. I have been telling myself this for years now . However, I was too tired and not in the mood for something very long, so I chose Paths of Glory (88 mins). As soon as I finished the film, I check back my phone, only to receive the news of his passing. A very sad coincidence. RIP.

4 pointsRight I thought this was going to be easy with months between hits! Jeez Louise, whoever she is! Subject to correction I'll provisionally update here for Kirk Douglas: Hits for Skinny Kiltrunner, msc (3rd hit); Banana (3rd hit); theoldlady (3rd hit); Deathray; ThereWillBeDeaths (3rd hit); gcreptile (3rd Hit); Zefph (3rd hit); Book (3rd Hit); Etishispushingupdaisies (3rd hit); RadGuy (3rd hit); Buffalo Phil (3rd hit); Torva Messor (3rd hit); chilean way (Joker); Annami; paddyfool; Grim Up North (Joker); Great Uncle Bulgaria. So if I have this correct, +2 for the hit, if you have a 3rd hit extra +1. Both Jokers only have 2 hits so your hit total is doubled to +4. Cue paddyfool's entrance.... 2 pointsCarked Douglas. This feels so strange. Kirk was like the old piece of furniture that stayed in the room year after year, while most of the others were broken and replaced. And now it's gone too....

2 pointsI disagree, Stan Lee kept himself in the spotlight through cameos in Marvel movies and shows like the Big Bang Theory. He was a known name in pop culture by almost all of millennials and Gen Z, you can't say the same for Douglas. He was massive in his day but knowledge of his work among younger audiences is lacking.
-
2 pointsKirk Douglas is far, far more famous than Stan Lee. One of the last of Hollywood's Golden Era, plus father of Michael Douglas versus someone involved in the relatively fringe interest of Comic Books. Not even a contest.

2 pointsAmerican actress Estelle Harris turns 92 this year. Despite being the voice of Mrs. Potato Head in Toy Story, in the most recent film the character hardly had any lines, and the things she did say sounded familiar, so perhaps archived material from the previous films was used? Besides TS4, her last acting credit was in 2015. Maybe one to keep on the radar.

1 pointSo Spartacus has fallen. That’s right, the absolute legend Kirk Douglas has died. Three people will try to claim themselves as Champion now, although there’s still 24 days to go. Etush has a bit of a decisive advantage over LizLemon as we see if he makes it on to round 2. FixedBusiness also had him, and nows has a decisive 6 point lead over Unknown Man. Markb4 also had him, showing that he might be an underdog after all... 1 pointRight, those loopholes @Ulitzer95 brought up. A very swift DDP Cmme was called and has come to quick decisions: On the matter of the Scottish Sun counting as a QO. This was a complete split decision. As a matter of fact it hasn't been accepted as a Qualifying Obit in the past, and so accepting it now in February would be a rule change during the game. So for the rest of 2020, the Scottish Sun isn't counted, sorry. On the matter of ITV, the rule said the regional ITVs counted. Ergo, it suggests STV and UTV which ARE ITV regions ala the BBC Scotland which we already accept. So, they are allowed and yes, some of you have picked team members based on that assumption. The QOs will be much, much clearer in 2021.

1 pointLiterally nothing in my post was my opinion, only quotes from Limbaugh, and just answering the question 'hey why does everyone hate the dick?' That said, I have no doubt that we're on completely opposite sides of the 'what is PC' debate, given I think that those mentioned quotes are reprehensible and Rush is way worse than 'not a desirable person' and more on the lines of I'm counting down the days and hoping he doesn't last long enough to make next year's list. But probably not the right place to have this debate
