2 pointsMarvelous. You're a god damn wizard, Paul. Genfærd is the danish word for apparition and my byline is Danish for "fascinated by death" - just so you don't think there's some sort of dick joke in it or something.

2 pointsWhether you like him or not it is pretty amazing a man who hasn't held any official role in the government for nearly half a century is still sought out for counsel by world leaders and diplomats today.

1 pointI was reflecting on it, and probably the answer is yes. Otherwise it wouldn't have been the Queen either, there's still someone older in Europe... and the Queen will now wait at least two rounds (but never know!) to be added.

1 pointI just found out Lynn Cohen died, mainly from a Tumblr post as I have a friend obsessed with Sam Claflin. I will only remember her as Mags from Hunger Games (can't remember if i've seen her in anything else).

1 pointI wouldn't call Caroline Flack an A-lister. The only reason I was aware of her existence was because I had read about her lamping her boyfriend. It was reported on the BBC News website which I look at every day. Other than that I had never heard of her.

1 pointKatie Price's autobiography (sic) now runs to 6 books, apparently. Teddy Roosevelt told his in one book.

1 pointTonight is a difficult time to discuss such a complex, sensitive and thorny subject after todays tragedy so I will try to be careful what I am saying and the words I choose. I want to stress that I am NOT talking about or referring to Caroline Flack when I say this. But I have no patience and little time for SOME celebrities who clearly love embracing the fame celebrity game and the shortcut to big money that it offers them but very quickly develop an attitude that being a celebrity and not receiving any scrutiny or attention that is uncomplimentary or critical in anyway is their divine right. An almost entitled victim mode develops as if their fame and fortune has evolved and developed in a bubble totally unconnected to anything else but their own greatness .There is a childlike mentality amongst some that only the nice good bits of fame are legitimate and should exist. The bad bits, or the downside is unfair on them and shouldn't exist. This is regressive, unrealistic and immature. It is much more pronounced amongst hollow vessels or reality tv stars with little talent and who rely on an initial leg up from the press or a tv show that makes them famous eg Big Brother or The Only way is Essex etc. Celebrities with a bit more talent and substance tend to be more likely to take a more balanced and mature attitude to the business of fame and celebrity. I'm thinking of people like say Katie Price who seems in permanent poor me victim mode, craving the attention to stay relevant , setting up staged photoshoots in public places whilst bemoaning being harassed. No recognition that she has made a trade off .A totally vacuous selling off her private life to the highest bidder, craving relevance and attention whilst simultaneously acting all hard done by the media and its interest in her and morally outraged at the fact any kind of criticism of her exists at all. It's all rather cake and eat it combined with cognitive dissonance. Anyway rant over but I don't get her or why people are still interested in her 'story'.

1 pointI have just been on twitter and there is an awful unedifying spectacle of one group of people saying the media killed Caroline Flack, another saying Twitter and Instagram killed Caroline Flack, another saying the public who buy newspapers killed Caroline Flack and then there is the pushback against all of that and debates about how females accused of domestic violence are treated better than men and nobody would care if a man accused of domestic violence died etc. There are virtue signalling arseholes seeking attention from all sides /angles of the debate or issue and using it to point score. Its really cheap and frankly a cesspool and a number of celebrities are in the driving seat on twitter adding petrol to the bonfire. Very disheartening and disappointing.

1 pointAh, those were the covers when I began reading Agatha Christie. They were brilliant.

1 pointFor example, Drol, few years back someone would have mentioned by now that June Brown had to miss the location filming for Dr Legg's funeral (on health grounds according to ITK folk), only appearing briefly in the Elstree set, and having large parts of her dialogue* (ie written early December for her) handed over to her who plays Sonia instead. *including important stuff for the character, given Leonard Fenton only returned to die to give June Brown a storyline. 5 years ago this would have produced 2 pages of "she's on her last legs" posts rapidly approaching that final Dead. Instead it goes unmentioned, and there's no discussion of the DL50, just birthday mentions, death notices and "are they dead yet?" mentions. Soulless stat collecting. I'm rather grumpy today.

0 pointsI'm already a bit of a survivalist (some may call me a crazy person) so me ,my wife and kids could last 6 months off the grid . Though 3 of those months would be without electric depends on how often it's used and whether my wife could cook over an open fire, she's from a village and grew up with her mum cooking over open fire so she has experience. I have a portable generator and my wife grows 3 types of vegetables. Clean water is the tough one. Have enough bottled water for 2 weeks but after that, it's water purification tablets mixed with cooked rainwater. Might buy a few more bottles next week. lol They have only just started to run out of water, electric in Wuhan so hopefully it won't get as bad around the UK . You won't hear that on mainstream media.

0 pointshttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8005931/British-scientist-leading-coronavirus-fight-says-forecasts-400-000-UK-deaths.html Well some in the scientific community are saying that around 400,000 deaths in the UK alone as a result of coronavirus is not unrealistic.
