Something along the lines of "After the Year Dot" but who knows when inspiration will strike. Although with puns referencing Scott Steiner, a forgotten UK number one from 2006, the Elizabeth Wurzel line and the Douglas Adams/Tom Long one I was far too smug about, the only question is how low will the quality line of these puns be by December? imo very, very low!

Its 75 years since Scottish athlete Eric Liddell died in an internment camp in Japanese occupied China, aged 43. Born in China to christian missionaries and a devout christian himself, he refused to race on Sundays, and in 1925 returned to China as a missionary. When Allan Wells won the 100m Gold at the 1980 Olympics, he dedicated the victory to Liddell.

So...what you are saying...is...Dot has brought her time to a full stop! I'll get my coat (while @msc adds the above to "terrible puns possibly in the event of death" for the DDP).

Well, there's a surprise. I never got as far as the checking out the comedy soundtrack, but the reason the XTC original failed to reach the top 40 in 1991 was that it wasn't released until 1992

Absolutely right. It probably was misleading to describe Dumb & Dumber as a comedy

Not to panic The Engineer unnecessarily, but coronavirus has started killing folk in Iran who had never left their home country in their lives. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/02/iran-confirms-coronavirus-cases-200220125104907.html

I hope you make it to the 29th of December so I can pick you for my DDP team (I've sent in my team way before he was diagnosed, I've also missed my oportunity to pick Chris Doleman, I've picked both in Cup and DSCDP.)

I personally think its unlikely: --> There are 8 billion people right now --> 100 Billion people have been alive since Homo Sapiens started to exist --> We probably know the birth and death date of 2-3 Billion of those people --> The statistical barrier is 117 years with only 2 exceptions --> Supercentenarians probably hardly, if ever, existed before 1800, even centenarians are very seldom, we only know of a view among the noble and aristocrat elites and they usually live longer --> The first documented Supercentenarian was born in 1788 and only lived up to the barrier of 110 years --> Ever since then the age barrier only slowly progressed while peaking with Jeanne Calment who has not been topped yet. Statistically this all makes sense, the maximum age slowly increased and in the years before 1800 even the outliers like Jeanne Calment would have barely topped out in the late 100s while modern humans could barely top out in the late 120s.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but found out in my Wikipedia travels that the activist, politician and minister Rev Jesse Jackson got diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2017. He is 78 and so could be one to watch.

Posted 19 hours ago Larry Tesler, formerly of Xerox PARV & Apple has died aged 74 Computer scientist Larry Tesler was the inventor of copy-and-paste as we know it today, and was also the guide that showed Steve Jobs the Xerox PARC systems that would inspire the Macintosh. This copy and paste work is my tribute.......

There is no ambiguity to this. Harry has left the Royal Family. Irrespective of the rights and wrongs or who is to blame, both of them are a pair of cunts. He has always disliked the whole 'Royalty' thing, it has been obvious for a long time that, unlike his brother, he considered his birth into the dynasty as a burden. This is aside to what he really thinks in respect to his mothers treatment by them throughout her marriage, divorce and death. It is incredible, in view of all of that, that he has the brass neck to still consider himself to be The Duke of Sussex and use it to further his own career in the charidee sector etc, etc. I have not mentioned her because, obviously, to be critical would make me a racist. I actually think the sooner they are finished with the remainder of their royal duties and are out of here for good the sooner everybody will stop talking about them and just fuck them both off.

Prince Philip could “allegedly” pass away in 5 years. Fuck me. Stunning bit of journalism.

Fears Philip won't be alive in 5 years; that's tragic, 90% of world population makes it to 104.

My best friend on 19 Feb - I'll miss you brother. [he did achieve a lot in his field and has a wiki page, not to a level of QO, but unfortunately we both knew that with bowel cancer the odds were against him].
