3 pointsI'd be getting the telescopic lenses out if I you were. I'm sure the press would love 'Andrew hosts mass gathering, in latest display of his royal arrogance' headline.

2 pointsGOOD TROUBLE, SAD DEATH 13/50 17th July 2020 John Lewis, legendary civil rights icon and politician who isn't a UK department store has died at 80 to bring another successful hit to the crowdsource list. John Lewis first heard of Martin Luther King Jr at 15, eventually leading to him meeting King at 18 and Rosa Parks at 17. Those early encounters lead him to be a major leader in the civil rights movement. He was one of the original Freedom Riders in 1961, which rode interstate buses into the segregated south. In 1963, he won a chairmanship to the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. As chairman, he was part of one of the Big Six who help lead the March on Washington later that year, and during the March he gave a very impassioned speech in front of a huge crowd of hundreds of thousands. Perhaps his most famous feat was when he played a big role on the Selma to Montgomery marches in March 1965. In it, he was brutally beaten and tear gassed by the police, which eventually lead to his skull being fractured and some permanent scars he bared for the rest of his life. Eventually, he worked his way up the political system, working in the Jimmy Carter administration after a loss for a seat in Georgia's 5th congressional district. In 1986, he won that very same seat after a very contentious primary. Although his time in congress was not a perfect record by any means, he did provide many courageous votes during congress such as voting against Bill Clinton's terrible welfare reform and voting against the Iraq War. He was a political giant, and certainly among the best there was in Congress. Lewis was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the final days of 2019, and there was a question of whether he'd make the list given that Bob Hawke missed out by over 90 points last year. However, he did end up on the list pretty comfortably, going all the way to the 39th spot in under 48 hours. He is the 13th hit in an ever moving big year of deaths...

1 pointDeath of one of the greatest icons in the civil rights struggle. His funeral will no doubt energise the BlackLivesMatter protests. Big question is how will the idiot in chief respond? Can he resist the temptation for once to not say something offensive and imflammatory? PS he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on dec 29.How could he not be on this years list?

1 pointRCP Average July 17th 2016: Clinton + 4.5 July 17th 2020: Biden + 8.6 Highest and Lowest Poll for the Month of July Clinton: Clinton + 9/Trump + 5 Biden: Biden + 15/Biden + 3 You're statement isn't true and your assumptions won't become reality. Biden is far stronger than Hillary, he's almost definitely going to win in this climate. Trust me, this thread should be focusing on whether or not RBG can make it to January when Biden is sworn in, that's what matters.

1 pointThat's the most frail I have ever seen him.He looks just like the Queen Mother looked in her final months. I am more convinced than ever that he will not make 100 after seeing that pic ! That said if he was well enough to attend a wedding today his death is probably not imminent. We have a few more months to wait yet ! There was talk of postponing the wedding till next year.Did they have it today because they don't think Phil will make it that far?

1 pointHere’s the problem. In a normal election year, I think Trump would win easily, and in fact I was one of the ones who really didn’t want Biden to be the democratic nominee. I thought there was a good chance he’d bungle it (he still might bungle in the debates mind, but that’s besides the point). The strategy that Biden is doing is actually brilliant, ie hide most of the time and only come out when they need him. This way, people get the best impression of him while he’s not in the public eye. Look, I think most of us think Biden is pretty bad, but that doesn’t change the fact his strategy during a pandemic is a good one. One other thing about Biden, he’s not as hated as Hillary was. With a better approval rating than her, I think more people would vote for him. Here’s another issue though, Trump’s time in office was a disaster. The thing that made him win in 2016 was the fact that he was economically populist, but when you look at his record he was perhaps the most corporate, establishment politician of all time, just with a more unfiltered way than the typical politician (I actually think that would’ve been one of the things that helps him in 2016 because he doesn’t seem fake). He also, as you probably know, bungled the COVID-19 response. When 125 thousands lives are lost from something that honestly could’ve been more preventable, the people would turn on you. Let’s say for arguments sake though that the American people overlooked Trump’s very corporate record and his awful COVID response. The thing he’s more focused on this time during campaigning is the culture war. In his Mount Rushmore speech, he gave one of the most American Exceptionalist speeches of all time. Basically, he’s saying that America is already great. That is a direct repudiation of his 2016 slogan, ie Make America Great Again. Even with the bad record, the change in his campaigning is definitely hurting his case in November. And honestly, I don’t know if the populism would’ve worked this time around anyways. The American people I think just want someone who can soothe them during a time of crisis. Look, Biden is a massive favorite at this point whether you like it or not. And this is coming from someone who’s considering voting for a Third Party candidate. Things can certainly change, yes, but if Trump continues to bungle the COVID response and campaign on how America is already great, it’s just gonna be a recipe for disaster. One thing I do agree on though, anyone who looks at George W Bush fondly because of Trump needs to look themselves in the mirror. They’re both awful. Don’t normalize a war criminal, okay?
