Hold on - did @Kenny McCormick claim that the LEFT chose Biden? Biden is literally mid-right and all of us lefties would have or did vote for Bernie Sanders and we're only backing Joe Biden because he's actually quite decent compared to Trump. There are more righties in the Democratic Party than you would think and THOSE people voted in Joe Biden as a candidate (and made Bernie drop out). I said it in 2016 and I'll say it again: the Democrats are not left AT ALL. Hillary and Joe are 1970s Republicans.

On combing through this... The link to Biden’s “racism”. This, from a couple of decades ago, was a point about underprivileged individuals who turn to crime needing help getting on the straight and narrow, not about race. Here he is recently, showing how racist he is. No evidence of misogyny, no evidence of peedophilia or even paedophilia, just evidence of someone who’s too tactile and needs telling this to avoid gross exaggerations like that clip from the heavily partisan YouTube channel who posted that clip. As a comparison, here’s a list of sexual misconduct cases against Trump. That’s what we’ve got to think about, just what exactly we’re comparing here. Biden doesn’t have an anti-LGBT stance. Much like many politicians, he’s moved with the times on this. This here might be worth digesting, which, aside from explaining how Biden is getting backing from the LGBT perspective, also points out that Pence is still, today, staunchly against same sex marriage, and that Trump is heavily undermining rights that should already be a given in the courts. Biden being a “clueless imbecile“ and a “dementia sufferer” is predominantly him and his stammer. Trump being a clueless imbecile...I genuinely don’t know where to start, nor do I have time to even scratch the surface of the depths of his idiocy. Maybe some bleach would help? I get what you’re saying; you like a shock political result. Sure, there’s entertainment value in that. But there is emphatically not any entertainment value in the ramifications of voting in such a wholly horrendous individual. Bernie Sanders is a self-proclaimed Socialist. Let’s get this clear, this is not, and neither is ‘lefty’ or anything similar, a dirty term. But the question was where is the Marxism in the Democrat party? With these such vast gulfs between both candidates’ undeniable incompetences, you can surely see how easy it is to assume that anyone still so hellbent on smearing Biden and backing Trump is, well, a Trump supporter. You can claim to be green and all that guff, but your Trump critique boiled down to him being a ‘dope’. That’s why I call dishonesty. But, hey, it’s not my election. I’m done with the US, there are too many problems here in the UK to have enough energy left to care what the country does to itself anymore.

Had the Whipple, turned down chemo as it would stop her writing. Told cancer will come back worse "within 2-5 years". One to watch, then.

It might be a tad hypocritical, but then David Attenborough is beloved in that very rare way that he could probably fart on the Queen and people would defend him. It's the Johnny Cash/Jane Fonda scale again. Johnny Cash spoke out against the Vietnam War, he was a much loved public figure so got leeway with any hypocritical elements in that. Jane Fonda wasn't, so didn't. David Attenborough is a much loved public figure so he gets leeway with any hypocritical elements in his public speaking. Jeremy Corbyn was widely seen as a cunt, so doesn't. Simple.

You very obviously don’t. A dope is what you call someone who gets something a little bit muddled up, or trips over their own shadow or something clumsy like that. Trump is a sociopathic, solipsistic, perverted, misogynistic, racist, treacherous, precarious, imbecilic serial liar.

There are cases when it's natural to be glad when someone dies, as it can be a release after suffering.

I feel like this is an excellent example of what the outside world think deathlisters are like; death-craving weirdos that take pleasure out of anyone that keels over. Congrats. First post in and you already sound like a lunatic.

I think, perhaps subconsciously, you repeatedly undermine yourself, so if it’s all the same to you, we’ll (mostly) agree to disagree (with you)

Not certain why Rover has addressed his argument at my post rather than LFN's other than simply daisy chaining. However I didn't actually say Attenborough's activities were bad (I don't believe they are overall), simply affirmed that few things are ever completely black and white. Was and remains my view. I also never said he wasn't 'a national treasure' or such. This though, Is a bit of strawman. It doesn't really work that way. That argument can be made for anyone who ever gets on a commercial scheduled flight, "it was going anyway". Supply and demand, if people didn't want to fly so much there would be less flights.

The each one is as bad as the other is a dangerous rhetoric which essentially suppresses turnout which tends to favour the right. This needs to move out of personality and onto policy

I just want to say the Bill Gates Sr obituary is the absolute funniest one of the year, imho.

One of the things I've learnt through this project is that it's not easy to mathematically work out someone's age from the higgledy piggledy English school system! I did find him through what you dug out though... I think! Birth registered in the 3rd quarter of 1952: BUCK, PAUL A. Uckfield, Sussex. Now that is the only birth of a Paul Buck occurring in Sussex (which was just one big county before 1974, rather than East and West as it is today). Google says his middle name is Anthony. Has to be him, surely? That makes him an identical age to Strummer pretty much. School entry can also depend upon parental choice I suppose, and then kids can get held behind/skipped ahead too depending on circumstances.

If you actually think the left wanted Biden, you couldn't be further from the truth...

Well, Betelgeuze didn't explode after all. Time for a new era. I am so excited I can barely keep it together.

It appears Ron Paul just suffered a stroke or some other medical episode on live broadcast. Video clips are now being removed from Twitter. Update: Hospitalised. Update 2: Tweet from his Twitter says he’s doing fine.

Yes, there's such a fine balance between too short a drop (strangulation), just right (neck broken and instant death) and too long a drop (decapitation). Any executioner taking pride in their work wants to get things right, but I'm not sure if the 'long drop' formula worked out by executioner Marwood in 1892 takes into account a 40 stone candidate. http://www.capitalpunishmentuk.org/longdrop.html Even then there are variables, 2007 DDP alumni Barzan al-Tikriti was apparently decapitated during his execution not because the length of the drop was wrong, but because he had untreated spinal cancer I suspect the detained IS cleric will have lost a fair bit of weight by now anyway. It would be hard to maintain a waistline like that in jail I should think.
