Shannen Doherty turns 50 today How old does that actually make me? The latest news I found about her was a quarantine in Canada, where she was doing fine, focusing on health.

National Rail enquiries has changed its website to greyscale "as a mark of respect to Prince Phillip" (sic). People are pointing out that not only is this the emptiest of gestures but also likely contravenes 2018 Accessibility legislation.

Another Brazilian possible supercentenarian dead at 114: https://tribunamulungu.com.br/2021/04/02/morre-em-paulo-afonso-aos-114-anos-dona-inocencia-mulher-mais-velha-da-bahia/ Another of these Brazilian women who appear out of nowhere and say they're 110+, usually claim to be born 1906. An annoying case that has been bothering me for the last few days is this Greek woman Eleftheria who claims to have been born on 12th of April 1903. I'd say that she's probably atleast 15 years less. The current top 10 validated oldest people seem to be indestructible.

By the way, is there any information on how much Alberto weights? He's much larger than any centenarian I've ever seen. Albano is the second oldest person in his country (oldest confirmed and only validated supercentenarian) and Alberto is the fifth oldest person in Portugal. Their parents got to 96 and 95 and have atleast two other centenarians in their family (sister's children). That's what I'd call great genes.

The problem is, though, that if you try and make the decision making process quicker, people will complain that sovereignty is been taken away from the individual nations, and the process is not democratic. It is a no-win situation. If you have an organisation where twenty-seven members all have a theoretically equal say, then it is going to work slowly - it's the nature of the beast. But I don't think that there is much of an appetite among the majority of EU nations for the alternative (and definitely there was no appetite in the UK) - which is that more power is handed over to the EU institutions with reduced input from the member states. I also think that there is little or no chance of the EU breaking up in the next 10 (or even 100 years). Most Europeans can see that the economic benefits far outweigh the many negatives,. Perhaps though I am viewing that from a biased Irish perspective. Given the utter fuckwits that led Ireland through the last financial crisis, most Irish are happy enough if decisions are made elsewhere.

Given the apparent fragile state of his mental health, how do we think Prince Harry will cope knowing his grandfather died regarding him as a great disappointment? If dying wasn’t bad enough, imagine dying knowing your life’s work and achievements were being tarnished by your own grandson and his tart of a wife. I hope he comes the funeral and further hope that when he gets to the bottom of the steps off the plane, there is someone at waiting with a large pair of scissors to cut the medals off his chest. Do we think he might top himself?
