Outdoor transmission in summer has never resulted in huge spikes. And the link between cases and hospitalisation and deaths is totally broken. The vaccines are completely pumping all variants. It's an exit wave and absolutely no danger of overwhelming the NHS. More importantly, if you plot cases in the U.K and the U.S on a graph, you get a Brontosaurus.

.....oh, and another thing. A matter of weeks ago India was on the verge of social collapse because the virus was running riot and they could not cope, had no oxygen etc, etc. Hardly in the news now. Gone from Apocalyptic lead stories in the press and media to, pretty much, fuck all. Strange....

https://www.facebook.com/MainiokotiJusolanlampi/videos/296765841676215 Here's the video I talked about in Scavenger Hunt... A woman is interviewing 1964 Tokyo 50 Metre Pistol gold medal winner Väinö Markkanen. Some parts of it translated: 0:18 she asks "Väinö, what was your sport" No response. 0:26 she again asks "In what sport did you win gold" Around six seconds later he answers "in pistol shooting" very unclearly. Very short answers and the whole interview seems to have been forced. He does answer the questions right but doesn't seem to be enjoying it and can only answer short answers, and also says unclearly something when they talk about life that could be translated to "for me it's starting to be over". At 2:20 she says "Long life. And the secret to living long?" and "Will it be kept a secret" He answers "Yes" Edit: Also, it's recorded in a nursing home for old folks who need 24/7 care by what is probably a member of the staff and was posted on that nursing home's facebook page.

Incorrect. Joe Clark, who was Prime Minster of Canada between 4th June 1979 and 3rd March 1980, is still alive. What do you have to say about that?

After a couple of deaths in May, we have our first June centenarians, here are some of them... I'd say these are a pretty strong trio: James Francis Edwards, born 5th of June 1921. Canadian WWII pilot, with 19 aerial victories he was Canada's highest scoring ace in the Western Desert Campaign. He shot down Luftwaffe ace Otto Schultz (51 aerial victories) in 1942 and probably also Günter Steinhausen (40 aerial victories), later the same year. Picture from an interview on his 100th Jakob Skarstein, born 7th of June 1921. Longtime radio journalist and personality since 1945. P.K. Warrier, born 8th of June 1921. Ayurveda alternative medicine practicioner.

Sad news. She's fantastic in The Daemons, and always a welcome face whenever she popped up. Hope her and Margaret Rutherford aren't fighting over the Cape up there.
