3 pointsOh wow.... big one. At one time, he could have been president, until the Iraq debacle destroyed his reputation. I wonder if he actually wasn't vaccinated - or already had secret health issues. So among the Republicans, we've had Shultz, Rumsfeld and Powell this year, so far... while Kissinger and Baker survive.

3 pointsSo Michael Caine has retired, un-retired and re-retired now? I'm confused. tbh my first thought was "how's Tom Courtenay's health these days?"

3 pointsAnita Pointer was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2011. She treated it and came out free of cancer in the following year. Maybe... her cancer's back. Once you've had cancer, recurrence is your biggest fear. And... Jada, Pointer's only daughter, died of pancreatic cancer in 2003. I can only give her my best wishes.

2 pointsJust six days ago I was wondering why Powell was missing from Blinken's twitter pictures posted in the Kissinger thread. James Baker, 91 and Madeleine Albright, 84 in one of the photos.

2 pointsI’ve read in Caine’s autobiographies that he has long been great friends with Sidney Poitier!!!!! I have a feeling this could be Poitier but I really hope I’m wrong.

And I have another very close friend who is very, very ill. If he survives until next weekend I’ll be surprised. And I won’t mention his name, but you’ll read about him in the papers.”

2 pointsHere's a later interview from September. It's over one hour long. At around 54:35: "After my wife died I thought there was nothing to live for. 69 years we were together. And I met this lady that just...knocked me out. She's a much younger woman and I'm 102. How much more time do I have? Six months? A year? A year and a half? A year and three days? Who knows, you don't know. And I suddenly became to feel...Oh shucks I wanna live, I wanna live." "I could go today, fine. But I don't want to. (Laughs)"

1 pointSo here goes... After private talks in the PM about the Wiki lists being deleted I decided to set up a standalone Wiki "Oldests and Lasts" to host the data. In the long term this will be far more feasible than creating threads on the forum. I copy and pasted the mirrors of the lists that were deleted from Wiki. Think I got them all... but if I missed any, WikiWand still has the mirrors up for now so that'd be a quick fix. The actual links, calculations of ages, etc, will have to be readded manually, which obviously would take some time and effort, but that can wait as just having the articles up again in some form was highest priority. I also might need to reinstate some more templates from Wiki albeit the age and date related ones are largely up. Additionally, this Wiki can directly link to pages on the original Wikipedia, which involves the template {{wp|(name of article)|(display text, if different from article title)}}. For instance {{wp|Nehemiah Persoff}}, or {{wp|Marsha Hunt (actress, born 1917)|Marsha Hunt}} Currently only open to registered users though depending on how things progress may start allowing guest edits. https://oldestsandlasts.com/index.php?title=Main_Page

1 pointGabriel Woolf, Doctor Who/The Brothers/Wizards vs Aliens. Like the late Stephen Moore, primarily a voice actor but has appeared on screen. Vilma Hollingbery, The Sweeney/Not Going Out/Inside no 9/Psychoville Avril Elgar, George and Mildred/Tales of the Unexpected/Carrie's War Murray Melvin, Torchwood/Tyrant King/Jonathan Creek Antony Carrick, Yes Minister/Hammer House of Horror/Tales of the Unexpected (he's the dad in Taste, one of the most famous episodes) Roland Curram, Terry and June/Eldorado Sure there's more...

1 pointGreat choice of person for a thread by the way If you Google it I think Michael Caine has said in the past six months or so that he's starting to feel more awareness of his mortality. I think he said something like he's got five good years maximum left in him by his reckoning.
