4 points3 hits to report since the last scoreboard, so rather than stick with tradition and have an update once every 2 years, let's end the quarter with a new leaderboard. 2 pointsJuhani Palmu was diagnosed with COVID last week: https://www.seiska.fi/Kotimaa/Leila-vaimo-syopaa-ja-koronaa-potevan-Juhani-Palmun-tilanteesta-Hanella-on-huono His lungs are in poor condition, however he is fully vaccinated.

2 pointsSurely the fact it’s his family announcing it could be significant. Many people with this type of condition are capable of still releasing a written statement. So it must be towards the more secure end not just affecting his actual speech.

2 pointsI first felt her health was faltering when she didn't attend Princess Eugenies wedding. Aside from the Queen , the Duchess of Kent was probably the only member of the wider royal family who had good and warm relations with Eugenies mother Sarah Ferguson. They were close and she was according to numerous royal biographies a good support to Sarah and gave her counsel and advice on her difficulties. Frank advice but kindly. I think she would have liked to have attended Eugenies wedding if her health permitted is my feeling.

1 pointApparently dead. Yes, I was looking up potential Cup picks. An actual DDP pick - err, good luck with that.
-
1 pointApologies- I did a cut and paste job, and forgot to edit in your name. Done now. The scores had already been correctly updated.

1 pointI'm a little glad that this dry cup month is nearly over now and that I don't have to knit a new team. @Sir Creep Unfortunately, the expectations of our duel were not fulfilled, we both certainly hoped for more murder and manslaughter Congratulations on the win and all the best for the next round(s)! Thanks to Spade for giving points to Luang Pho Yai so my team doesn't look too bad

1 pointHelmut Huber, the husband of legendary soap opera actress Susan Lucci for more than 52 years, has died. He was 84. https://7panic.com/susan-luccis-husband-helmut-huber-has-died-at-84/

1 pointAmerican actor Richard Chamberlain whose most prominent television roles include lead parts in Dr Kildare and The Thornbirds , celebrates his 88th birthday today.

1 pointQuite happy with my current 5th place spot, I highly doubt I'll be able to creep any further up this year. Although I would be in joint 2nd(?) place if Dan Lacey scraped an obit which would've been lovely to see, and no I won't shut up about it.

1 pointYou and me both, Parker's dropped me to ninth - I'll out myself again here and admit I've been appaled at my generally lacklustre DDP campaigns, the only recent exception being when I pretty much scrambled a team over a couple of hours whilst trying to avoid office conversations. The plan this year was to pack the line up with bankable if low point fodder and pick astutely amongst the likely drop 40 candidates. The head of ISIS was a smart pick, avoiding Parker for the same reasons others did is likely to prove costly. A watershed moment in this year's competition for quite a few of us, I think.

1 pointPrincess Alexandra also attended the commonwealth service recently. Perhaps she can only do limited stints nowadays so she doesn't get overtired and it was decided the commonwealth service was the better choice? Her granddaughter Flora Ogilvy who rarely is on the invite list for royal events did attend yesterday though. Perhaps she was her grandmothers replacement or rather her representative?

1 pointI noticed the Duchess's absence, when the Duke and Michaels arrived. I know she doesn't appear for any old event these days but this felt like one she'd be at. Thanks, I had no idea who she was. Vaguely assumed just an aide or - I daresay - nurse, particularly when nobody seemed to know who she was! No Princess Alexandra either...

1 pointHow desperately sad. Least he got to tour again, and see the first year of his son’s life.

1 pointOK, so for the three currently tied matches: Salmon Mousse is ahead on average age. As for the other two, here are the coin toss results: So Captain Hemlock and The Old Crem, unless DeathByArsenic or HDS score a hit in the next 38 hours, you'll be playing in Round 3.

1 pointLiza does look frail, was shaking a bit and is in a wheelchair, but she's always been a bit nuts so fumbling her words is no big deal. Wonderful to hear her glorious throaty laugh is still intact. She's not looked in great health for a number of years now but didn't seem any worse last night. Definitely one to consider but I'm not sure she's at death's door just yet. Lady Gaga is class.

1 pointDefinitely dead is Naci Erdem https://www.fenerbahce.org/haberler/futbol/2022/3/basimiz-sag-olsun-naci-erdem-i-kaybettik I'm hoping there's an article that refers to how many 1954 Turkish survivors there are as I'm not quite convinced there's so many still alive.

1 pointThere's no point looking for a pattern. People can deteriorate much further than this before dying, and others drop dead while looking as fit as a fiddle.
