Well that's the most depressing downgrade of a new name I've seen in some time. "Turns out he's not a centenarian actor, he's an old paedo instead."

Jesse Powell, who had a U.S. #10 hit in 1999 with the song 'You', as well as several other minor hits, has died. He was 51. No cause of death has yet been given. (Edit: Cardiac arrest is now being given as the cause of death.) https://ratedrnb.com/2022/09/jesse-powell-has-died/

Of course she made it up. She’s so full of shit, she could be considered a UK seaside resort.

'However, reigning in fans’ expectations again' The spelling in some media articles these days is laughably bad. Obviously confusing her with the new King.

They did speculate it, and maybe she wasn't sure she'd survive the summer. But clearly she didn't want to change her summer plans, wanted to visit Balmoral as normal and if she happened to die while up there, then so be it. She is, after all, half Scottish, and all accounts say it was she felt most normal. Thinking about it, it wouldn't have been too much longer before her return to Windsor would it? Mid-September? So just in time from that point of view. I think her send off has been lovely so far. As for the Unionist argument, I'm sure some will make that case, but Nicola Sturgeon is a huge admirer of the Queen and her blueprint for independence intends for Scotland to become another Commonwealth Realm with the King as Head of State in an independent Scotland. In other words, they can have independence and keep the monarchy is their aim.

Yesterday evening BBC commentators (or their guests) speculated on the thought that the Queen "chose to" die in Scotland. Not in the sense of committing suicide or anything but having herself a feeling that she just might not live terribly long, and deciding to travel up just to give Scotland a chance to give her a grand farewell. I think the crafty old lady did it to discourage any thoughts of Scotland leaving the Union.

Movie review of "The Cancer Conflict" - a documentary about two people with cancer, one fighting it with "official" science, the other one fighting it with alternative methods: https://www.theguardian.com/film/2022/sep/13/the-cancer-conflict-review-poignant-documentary-on-alternative-cancer-therapies It has apparently been in the making for 5 years: https://icrowdnewswire.com/2016/11/16/cancer-conflict-feature-documentary-trust-life-line/ And the scientific case, a film producer named Grant Branton, died pretty quickly: https://www.promonews.tv/news/2016/02/16/grant-branton-1962-2016/39476 Can't find anything on quick notice on the alternative case, unfamous person Surinder Paul. Branton had stage 4 colon cancer though that had spread to the bones, whereas Surinder Paul "only" had breast cancer.
