8 pointsReacting to every post on the forum is a little more than "liking posts". You have to admit it's at least a little funny that he's reacted to almost 400 posts since he was brought up in this thread for it, given that was only a day ago! Do I "hate" him? No he seems like a fine guy and well-meaning and he doesn't seem especially fazed given that he hasn't exactly slowed down on the reactions. (And I'm quite new here, I don't want to be arrogant and tell people what to do.) But given that he's been here less than a month and has already been complained about multiple times, I would at least recommend he didn't unnecessarily mark every single post with the Diego seal of approval so we don't have to discuss him every other week.

6 pointsThe last Finnish SS volunteer, SS-Rottenführer Sakari Lahtinen dead at 99. Died three weeks ago but apparently relatives took some time to tell the press (Yes, he was only 99, there was probably some mistake in those obituaries written in the past that said there were more centenarian Finnish SS volunteers still living or I've made a mistake somewhere. Anyways, all of those dead now.)

6 pointsAndrey Titenko, oldest living Hero of the Soviet Union, dead at 103 according to TASS. Previously known as Andrey Titanko on Wikipedia and the Living Centenarians list. On 18 March 1945, during the East Prussian offensive, Titenko served as the commander of a battery of 45 mm anti-tank guns within the 6th Red Banner Rifle Regiment. He distinguished himself during a battle for the fortified stronghold at the town of Deutsch Thierau in Königsberg. Bursting the guns, calculation was cut off from the rifle units. Having organized a perimeter defense, the five-man gun crew under his command managed to repel the attack by two platoons of German infantry. They killed 80 enemy soldiers and destroyed four machine gun emplacements. Not sure who the new oldest living Hero of the Soviet Union is, but could be WWII pilot, Colonel General, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force of the Soviet Union 1980-1986 Vasily Reshetnikov who'll be 103 next month. Edit: Reshetnikov probably is the oldest one now. Colonel General Ivan Gaidaenko is a bit older but as far as I know isn't a Hero of the Soviet Union.

3 pointsI was expecting to move on once we were down to four. If we go further we risk the final section were the winners all go up against each other being too predictable I am prepared for the 72/73 carnage

3 pointsS'cuse me quoting myself here but...Bridgen's in more trouble. Obviously, given the current poll ratings you suspect the Conservative Party won't be hungry for any de-selection/by-election action, but Bridgen appears unable to walk into a room without apparently doing something untoward. Is it just me or is there a tendancy for the most prominent Brexiteers to be unboundaried and, basically, twattish? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-63498136

3 pointsSo the above John Atterbury is alive - so Phineas Nigellus lives after all. Probably the entry in the latest Equity Mag relates to a pipe smoking Equity rep from Cumbria - or summat.

3 pointsJust the two deaths to note since the last update (unless you guys are hiding a few from me!) 23rd October: Marian Fuks 28th October: Jerry Lee Lewis However, since The Real Killer has taken out wannabe Jerry Lee Lewis, that means a minor shake-up to the top-10. @Joey Russ and @theoldlady move up into 5th and 6th places respectively, with @wannamaker rising to 9th. All 3 have now moved into contention as they are within two hits of the leader. Not a bad place to be in this pool entering November. ZZZ, the team of most popular picks has retaken a position on the podium in 3rd. At the bottom, @DeathByArsenicmanages to get a second hit of the year, to rise to the lofty position of 4th last, with @Doulton the only one left on a solo hit, and still propping up the field. Here is the top-10, full scoreboard as always is on page 1. Death Impends (2129 points) 13 hits [Antonio Inoki, Art Rupe, Bill Pitman, Carleton Carpenter, Harley Trippi, George Perez, Joe Krush, Kane Tanaka, Larry Storch*, Marsha Hunt, Monty Norman, Nehemiah Persoff] Wormfarmer (2036 points) 14 hits [Art Rupe, Boris Pahor, Charley Trippi, Everett Lee, Francis Jackson, Gail Halvorsen, Gary Burgess, Guy Lafleur, James Lovelock, Luis Echeverria, Marsha Hunt, Queen Elizabeth II, Susie Steiner, Tom Weiskopf] ZZZ - Boring Predictable Team (2017 points) 12 hits [Bill Turnbull, Gary Burgess, George Perez, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Jerry Lee Lewis, Kane Tanaka, Mikhail Gorbachev, Olivia Newton-John, Queen Elizabeth II, Susie Steiner, Tom Parker, Tom Smith] An Fear Beag (1798 points) 9 hits [Bill Turnbull*, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Kane Tanaka, Michael O’Connor, Mikhail Gorbachev, Mollie Walker, Olivia Newton-John, Tom Smith, Tom Weiskopf] Joey Russ (1606 points) 10 hits [George Perez*, James Lovelock, Jana Bennett, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Jerry Lee Lewis, Kane Tanaka, Mikhail Gorbachev, Olivia Newton-John, Saturnino de la Fuente Garcia, Tom Parker] The Old Lady (1553 points) 11 hits [Gary Burgess, Jana Bennett, Jerry Lee Lewis, Kane Tanaka, Marsha Hunt, Olivia Newton-John, Susie Steiner, Tom Parker, Tom Smith, Tom Weiskopf, Vic Elford] WhoamI (1498 points) 6 hits [Irene Papas, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Marsha Hunt, Mikhail Gorbachev*, Nehemiah Persoff, Queen Elizabeth II] MSC (1488 points) 6 hits [Angela Lansbury, James Lovelock, Jill Knight, Nehemiah Persoff, Peter Tobin*, Queen Elizabeth II] Wannamaker (1440 points) 9 hits [Bill Turnbull, George Perez*, James Lovelock, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Jerry Lee Lewis, Russell Bishop, Tom Parker, Tom Smith, Vic Elford] John Key (1322 points) 9 hits [Bill Turnbull, Christos Sartzetakis, Estelle Harris, Gary Burgess, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Lata Mangeshkar, Mwai Kibaki, Sacheen Littlefeather*, Tom Smith]

2 pointsI think that's fine for commercial productions which are usually under way, but not for intended live coverage of a real event. Not before it's taken place.
-
2 pointsFeels a little redundant when the four left are going to make the grand finale no matter what happens. But understood.
-
2 pointsThe nuisance of Equity not making it clear who they're listing in their in memoriam section... Is British actor Richard Beaumont (wiki) deceased aged 60/61? It would appear so, but there are multiple people by that name on IMDb. *sigh* The actor played Tiny Tim in Scrooge. EDIT: Found this, which confirms it is indeed the Scrooge actor!

2 pointsI'm minded to make an exception for any vegetable or very short lived animal - but only if the Daily Star has entered it into unofficial competition with the shelf-life of a working politician. I'll leave it as a good intention at the moment. My thread, so the required rule tweaking could always be actioned nearer the start time. On a more serious note, the first team is in - I'll just declutter my message space hereabouts and start the masterlist doc, then. Keep 'em comin'

2 pointsHappily not, apparently. Don't know how to embed tweets, but Toby has tweeted that his information was incorrect and John Atterbury still lives.
