2 pointsMy bad - yeah, bring on the increased stress, he might just start seeping high-pressure blood during the announcement. Or go an Alan Brazil shade of red!

2 points20 lists in already. Early voting or a record breaking year, time will tell.

2 pointsI stand by what I've been saying, neither Trump nor Biden will be the 2024 nominees. Trump will lose in the primaries or be convicted before the election.

2 pointsI'm surprised disappointed people appear to prefer Windsor Davies & Don Estelle over Quo (and also Lonely This Christmas over the far superior Tiger Feet).

2 pointsDaniel Barenboim, the famed Argentine-born Israeli composer, conductor and pianist, who was a child prodigy and gave his debut piano concert at the age of seven, is 80 today. Roger Donaldson, the competent Australian-born New Zealand film director, producer and screenwriter well known for directing successful films in the United States, such as "No Way Out", "Cocktail", "Species", "Dante's Peak" and "The Recruit", is 77 today. His first film for an American-based production company was "The Bounty" (1984). Chris Donaldson, New Zealand sprinter who represented his country at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics, is his son.

2 pointsAbsolutely.ALS is brutal enough for anyone but someone nearly 86 and with pre existing health conditions it is even worse. Also at her age and with other health problems there is far less chance Doctors would want to put her on invasive ventilation.

2 pointsThere is also a chance that she kept a long list of possible candidates in case of older holders of the Order of Merit suddenly kicking the bucket.

2 pointsNot one to be outdone by Eric Idle, she casually reveals a pancreatic cancer battle she had in 2015: https://neoskosmos.com/en/2022/11/06/news/greece/nana-mouskouri-reveals-battle-with-cancer-during-award-related-interview/ And she had peritonitis.

1 pointDear everyone - I announced last year that my third year of entering all the teams would be my last. @Banana said he could help but I never took this forward however I am available to help them bed in in early December if they are still prepared to do the role? If not then we need a new replacement - there are a number of posters on here who seem to love creating incredibly long lists of people and the task is no more onerous than that really - there is about an hour a day needed through December and then an intense 4 or 5 hours a day needed in first week or two of Jan and then you're done for the whole year. Whether there is a volunteer or not I won't be doing it. Cheers, GUN

1 pointOn this day 33 years ago in 1989 Canadian champion swimmer and Olympic gold medallist Victor Davis died aged 25 after being seriously injured in a hit and run car incident. He won the gold medal for the mens 200m breaststroke at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles as well as two other silver medals that year and one silver at the Seoul Olympics in 1988.

1 pointI thought he looked terrible, and that was back in May. Seems like he'll go for sure next year.

1 pointDifficult to produce satirical comedy when reality is crazier than anybody could imagine. The world has become Mad Magazine.
