3 pointsIsn't this what this Forum can be about? If there is stuff you don't know about, maybe the death of a person will encourage you to watch or listen to their work, read a book by them, or whatever. I, on the other hand, was brought up in a house where our knowledge was extended by our folks' love of stuff dating right back to music hall. We knew what films to appreciate, even if they were dreadful. So I have the opposite problem...a lot of stuff these days passes me by. I'd probably say for at least the past 15 years I would barely know one popular choon from another, never mind identify who sang it...or even talked over a backing track, such is the way of things. And who are these bright young things in Heartstopper, or Waterloo Road, or on the Tikkity Tok or Insta-satisfaction? I just don't know. Do I care to find out? Not really, whenever I try, it's never as good because it is instant fame, it doesn't seem worked for. And it shows in the end product. Imo.

2 pointsApparently she also felt appearing on a show revolving around psychiatry went against her Scientologist mores. I had to laugh upon discovering that.

2 pointsOlivia Newton John was iconic due to Grease and a highly successful singing career.Alley was at the other end of A list.Renowned notable and very recognisable but not iconic by any stretch of the imagination.

2 pointsShe was the main actress on the biggest American sitcom of the eighties. But she never really kept that stardom level, turning down roles due to her Scientology beliefs. She was the only major Cheers star not to make an appearance in Frasier, due to real life heat between her and Kelsey Grammer.

1 pointThis is based off game The Old Crem started who has given me permission to take charge of 2023 game. The game is simple. Pick 20 celebrities who will have a child in either 2023 or 2024. Rules: (Mostly the same as original rules with a couple of changes) 1. Teams have to be sent in by 31/12/2022. Please send teams to me via PM and do not post on the thread. 2. You can pick either the mother or father of the child, but the parent has to be a celebrity. 3. You score points once the celebrity, celebrity's partner, surrogate gives birth or the adoption of a baby under 8 weeks old is announced. 4. The qualifying source is either a newspaper report or a post on verified social media account belonging to the Celeb or their partner. 4. Celebrity is defined by the pick having a Wikipedia page that existed before 1st December 2022. 5. You can't pick both likely parents of the same child in the event that both mother and father count as celebrities. 6. If there is any public doubt as to the identity of the father of the child, then the pick will be 'lost'. 7. Picks must be legal (i.e. the parent must be over the age of consent in their home country) 8. No pregnancy that has been officially announced or reported in a Q/O source as a strong rumour is allowed. 9. Any pregnancy that is announced between now and the deadline will not be eligible for points and you can chose to then withdraw that celebrity and replace them (but can also keep them in case their have a second birth in 2023). 10. Each team is allowed one joker who can gain double points. 11. Additional rule - If pregnancy is announced and there is a misscarriage or still birth then player gets half points (10 points turns into 5 etc). Age of parent at time of birth: Mother: 17-30: 10 points 31-35: 15 points 36-40: 20 points 41-50: 40 points 51+: 100 points Father: 17-30: 10 points 31-40: 15 points 41-50: 20 points 51-60: 40 points 61-70: 70 points 71+: 100 points Let the predicting comence.

1 pointQuick updates on some of them. Prem turns 98 today! He celebrated his birthday offering alms to a religious authority. Can walk unaided and looks 20 years younger. On the other hand he refused to receive general Prayut who is now Prime Minister citing health reasons. This basically means government's days are numbered. Jean de Luxembourg is on vacation with his family in Cabasson, France. Looking at the photo, he put definitely too much cotton in his underwear, but he looks decent nonetheless. Belisario Betancur could not attend Ivan Duque's proclamation as president citing health reasons. Rumours floating around he does not support the new government. Anyway his health is generally good. Francisco Morales Bermudez published an autobiography which he declares is his political testament. Could not attend the book presentation citing health reasons. Lee Teng-hui had his residence damaged during a storm in South Taiwan. He is doing apparently very well. Milos Jakes released an interview defending his political legacy. No one has plans about dying. It will be a long wait....

1 pointAnother The Producers death. Played Roger Elizabeth De Bris in the 2005 film remake - and thus Hitler also.

1 pointI only remember him for the song "Wonderful Life". Fabulous song though. Heartbreakingly melancholy.

1 pointand has now died. Wow, and just 66 years old. Apparently, some people are actually able to die of shame. Extreme stress can trigger heart attacks and strokes.I reckon it is more stress than shame.

1 pointI never did find out what was wrong with John Calley, so I reluctantly dropped him from this year's DDP entry. According to his Wiki page, he made this cryptic statement last year when he won his Oscar: . That could mean anything from mild depression to terminal cancer. If anyone ever finds out what's bothering him, please let us know.

1 pointFrom what I hear from a mate of mine who works for a Dutch bank, his management do that too... That doesn't surprise me a bit. Of course, their business consists mostly of lunch and dinner. regards, Hein
