3 pointsKeith Harding (wiki), former Tory MSP, died on 15 November 2021, aged 82. Just updated his Wiki, which still had him listed as living. A few notes on him – former leader of Stirling Council (1991–1995), very well liked across the political divide (e.g. he was the only Tory to be invited to former First Minister Jack McConnell's 40th birthday bash), defected to the neoliberal "New Party" in 2003 with MSP colleague Lyndsay McIntosh. Later retired to Brittany from 2004, where he was active before dying from a sudden illness. Received obits from The Scotsman and The Courier, but it was never spotted/reported on DL Forums for some reason.

2 pointsI've been here a while. The DDP rule here has been in force all that time, and yet nobody has bitched about it until now. And that was before the "wide open" Yahoo QOs were accepted. A passing reference, a caption on a photo, all these things count provided they are from a qualifying source and they reference the death. True, they are not obits - but the rules that everyone signs up to are clear from the outset. Some may not like them, but they agree to the rules when they submit a team. If you still can't get an obit, either you are incredibly unlucky or you have picked an obscure celeb so bloody obscure to the great unwashed British public that even the numerous sources aren't interested in covering them.

1 pointI remember Dustin Gee's death really well. A girl in my class at school had some sort of connection to the panto he was starring in at the time (think she may have been a dancer in it) which made it seem more real somehow. I also remember his last series with Les Dennis being shown posthumously which I found strangely fascinating.

1 pointWith the passing of Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst being the last 66' Survivor it got me thinking who is the next great footballer from the Englan team who would generate the same level of coverage. George Best might have been but he has gone already. The only name I really think of from my childhood is Kevin Keegan

1 pointIf I had a nickel for every famous John Kennedy killed in a car at the age of 46 I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
