Santi Gutiérrez Calle was a man who took his work very seriously. Thanks to his work, 112 youth players were professional footballers. I talked to him several times. Well, when I knew him, I have to admit I felt a little scared but otherwise respect. He was a man of few words and great humility. Santi was very considerate of others. His extraordinary instinct, integrity and compassionate nature made him a very respected man. Rest in peace.

I agree with @RoverAndOut that May is likely. I'll be bold and say Thursday 2nd May - it keeps the measures in January and April fresh in the minds of voters and is before the bank holidays. Easter early in 2024 on Sunday 31st March, so wouldn't break up April as a month for campaigning.

From what I've seen in reports, they didn't expect her to die so quickly. Makes sense given how long her husband has lasted. As for why they made the statement in the first place, it could be because Jimmy asked them to (as she couldn't most likely). Or given his speaking difficulties it could have been a pre-arranged thing. Personally, as I noted above, that article has given significant extra details about Jimmy's concerns that make me almost certain he's not going to make 2024 if they're concerned about him not being able to even make it to the funeral physically. If he makes it that will give us more of a clue as to his condition, as there will probably be photos. Going to be very interesting to see if Melania shows up. (Side note- she's likely to be the last living of all the current first ladies, as she's a good 6 years younger than Michelle and significantly younger than either Laura Bush or HRC.) I think she will.

Moshe Meron (wiki) dead at 97. Former Deputy Speaker of the Knesset. As mentioned in the post above, the oldest former Knesset member is now Stef Wertheimer (wiki), 97, who is notable in his own right as a billionaire businessman and philanthropist. The Wertheimers are the richest family in Israel so expect a QO when he goes.

The article also mentions him having trouble speaking and almost none of his clothing fitting... The man is in way worse shape than media reports let us believe previously. At least for surviving over 9 months after he was expected to die.

We've gone over this before and it's a losing battle. The Committee's idea of getting with the times would be picking a member of Then Jericho.

It wasn’t really a wish per se; I was just thinking of the mental anguish she would go through of being retold of her husbands death day in and day out. Lesser of the two even though I can’t imagine the sense of loss Jimmy is feeling right now. 77 years of marriage. That is one for the ages.
