6 pointsDid AP seriously need to clarify that a 99 year old man in hospice care wouldn't be attending a political fundraiser nearly a thousand miles away?

5 pointsNancy Valverde continues last year's tradition of notable lesbians becoming DeathList Cup hits. She most notably wore men's clothing in a time when that was regarded as socially impossible. She became a mainstay in the Los Angeles queer community and received some late recognition in recent years. msc manages to turn around his fortunes in the game against therewillbedeaths7 and hands over the "best loser" distinction to his opponent. Hemlock 4-0 Bibliogryphon The next month is approaching, so prepare your teams. It's been a tough month, lots of unlikely recoveries, a non-obit, some names just hang on forever. So some people might want to prepare a team just in case they manage to get that decisive last minute hit.

3 pointsWhat are these arbitrary honours handed out? Not an official birthday, new year or resignation. You can imagine the conversation. "Oi, Your Majesty, I know you are ill and all...but I've decided to give my Tory colleagues and a huuuuuge donor to my party Knighthoods and Damehoods". "Ah Rishi, I'm just nipping out for some chemo..." "Ah wait, what if I sweeten the pot with Christopher Nolan and his missus?" "Ask Camilla, I really am busy, I'll sign anything when I get back." "Oi Camilla, how about this list then? Look, I've included the Nolans." "Oh I love I'm In The Mood For Dancing." signs off.

3 points“The only living Democratic president who will not be in New York for the fundraiser is 99-year-old Jimmy Carter. A spokeswoman for Carter confirmed that he remains in home hospice care and is not making any public statements.” For those that don’t want to dig through the article about Biden for brief mention of Carter.

1 pointSo I don't watch the show now because it sux so not up to date with it but liked the 2020 10,000 episode where they go to scatter Dennis ashes. So with Kens son gone and his grandson going too, who does he have for family? Note I don't count tracy (not biologically his and her mothers dead anyway) Though the possibility of peter and simon returning hasn't been outruled so kens death would be a good enough reason for that but not always a guarantee

1 pointJohnnie Cochran died on this day 19 years ago, aged 67. - Cochran was inspired to enter law due to being inspired by Thurgood Marshall, specifically his win in Brown v. Board of Education. He would be admitted to the bar in 1963, and the first celebrity he represented in court was Lenny Bruce (in an obscenity case). - Cochran would gain fame for his specialty in representing plaintiffs in police brutality cases, and he would become the district attorney of Los Angeles in 1978. He would return to private practice in 1983, and in 1993 would be Michael Jackson's lawyer in his child molestation trial. - Cochran's most famous client was OJ Simpson in his 1995 murder trial, which Cochran managed to get him acquitted of- partially thanks to his "if the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit" line: This incident itself would soon earn the legal term "Chewbacca defense" 3 years later when South Park parodied him in the episode "Chef Aid": On the topic of animation, Cochran would lend his voice to the "Henny Penny" episode of HBO's Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child as Foxy Woxy (this episode has MANY guest voices that might surprise you). - Cochran's final trial before his retirement in 2002 was defending (the now relevant) P. Diddy in a stolen weapons trial. - Cochran was diagnosed with a brain tumor in late 2003, and died after a 15-month battle. Simpson and Jackson would attend his funeral.

1 pointMa Shitu (1915-2024) "No birthday party? And where the hell do I get my cake?" (Wang Huo reacts to the death of his eternal friend) "Tsk, tsk, not everyone has what it takes to be a king" (King Jimmy I) "T...th...this does mean I can die too?" (Zhang Lixiong) Age at death: 109 Known health issues: Terminal lung cancer in 2003, lung cancer and skin cancer in 2019, frail and hospitalised multiple times in 2020, severe COVID in 2023. Cause of death: autopsy pending. Alignment: Jovial writer who fled from the Kuomintang in the early 40s, and his wife was killed. Hugely popular in his later years, when his story Let the Bullets Fly was adapted into a popular (in Mainland China) movie, Ma Shitu was able to stand and exercise until the end so his demise was still kind of unexpected. Ma Shitu would become king of Immortals after Jimmy's death, but apparently not for this life.

1 pointThree more films seen in recent weeks: Wicked Little Letters - very enjoyable, Jessie Buckley is always worth watching and Olivia Colman was her usual self. Very sweary, and you'll see the twist coming a mile off but a classic British caper trying to catch the culprit. And it seems a decent chunk of it is true, more than I thought would be when watching it. Bob Marley: One Love - don't know much about the man himself in all honesty, so was interesting to watch. Plot was quite vague and it wasn't the most engaging biopic I've ever seen, felt somewhat like it was just made to cash in on the Bohemian Rhapsody/Rocketman/Whitney Houston bandwagon. There's a better film in there to be made I think. Performances were good though from the leading couple. Zone of Interest - saw it last night, really unsettling watch but well worth it if you get the chance. Possibly the most aural film I've ever seen (it completely deserved its Best Sound Oscar). Hard to watch this outwardly very normal family punctuated with subtle reminders of the horrors being committed. Plot was meandering, but it was much more a character study. Christian Friedel and Sandra Huller are superb. Still thinking about it. Still not got around to Dune 2, it's going to be around for ages and we've more pressing concerns with smaller releases that will disappear sooner.

1 pointCharlie Bird is dead - and a unique (!) hit for therewillbedeaths7. The veteran Irish journalist was the primary media contact for the provisional IRA in the 1990s after having reported on the peace process for a decade. Not only that, he covered global issues for about 40 years until his MND diagnosis finally slowed him down. He pretty much alerted everybody to his impending death, though MND/ALS is always tricky to time.
