I'm trying to work out my favourite moment of the night. Rees-Mogg's seat being Labour's 326th and majority-winning seat was up there, as were Liz Trussterfuck's loss, some of the bust-ups on Channel 4, the gasps of shock on Sky and all that. But I think this insane flurry of Tory scalps all in the space of a few minutes might've been the most exciting part of the evening: Thanks everyone for the brilliant coverage over the course of the night. This is gonna be one of those threads to read through again when I fancy a laugh.

Well, he's already killed off the Rwanda policy, so it's a spirited start.

Definitely NOT a drop imo. I can see he his getting frailer which of course is natural for someone in their 90s. A- list Hollywood actor and should remain on the list until he goes.

@Ulitzer95 @La Tombe @Lafaucheuse I finally solved this mystery. Georges Riviere and Lucile Saint-Simon are still alive. They have both lived in Ibiza, Spain since 1960. I spoke privately with Lucile's daughter, Karina Verlier, who is also an actress. She told me that three years ago she had contacted them and if any of them had died, she would have reported it. She also told me about Riviere's fake death, which seemed completely meaningless since it was all fake beacuse in 2017 she talked to them on phone. His date of birth is 1924 not 1920 according to her. Hard but worth it

Actor Donald Pelmear is 100 today. He's acted on big screen and stage, and has played a multitude of TV roles (including Day of the Triffids, above), but is best known as Professor Rubeish in the Doctor Who story The Time Warrior.

Well, that's how to piss on our 4th July bonfire good and proper. There are many reasons why people voted the way they did yesterday and many anomalies produced by that, but you cannot escape the fact that Reform got 4M votes and that this resulted in only 4 seats. Lib dems got 3.5M votes for 71 seats. Greens a little under 2M for 4 seats. I'm a supporter of PR (as previously stated) but in this instance I'm almost glad we don't have it (though I console myself people wouldnt have voted this way had we had it). Fighting the Kaiser of Clacton is going to be ongoing. He's never going to shut up about the number of votes. My mute button is going to see some serious action if I watch anything political over the next 5 years. NB. Glad to see you got through yesterday somehow on apparently zero sleep .

The problem with branding it a 'Truss moment' is that this could mean a multitude of things. Smashing the economy into a wall is a 'Truss moment'. Lasting less time than a lettuce is a 'Truss moment'. Opening up a pork market is a 'Truss moment'. Killing a monarch is a 'Truss moment'.

To Kill a Hooker Rugby league player Rob Burrow has died at the age of 41. Noted for his relatively diminutive height – at the last measurement, minus six feet tall – Burrow played for 18 years with the Leeds Rhinos, with whom he won eight Super League championships, and also played for England, Great Britain, and Yorkshire, which probably makes sense to people who follow sport outside of paraphrasing Wikipedia articles for obits. He was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in December 2019, so at least he had something to distract him from the last two general election campaigns. In his final years, he raised over £6 million for MND awareness. Going by his popularity with deadpoolers, it paid off. Unfortunately, 8 Inverse Dead Pool players misheard about his MND and thought he was on the mend. This includes 3 players who were in the 0-point scrum: @Clorox Bleachman, now on 1; @Captain Hemlock, now on 2; and @chilean way, who burrows down to the bottom half of the leaderboard with 13 points. 13 players – a rugby team's worth, as it happens – remain on 0. It's absolutely horrifying to read that post. Seeing something completely inexcusable and responsible for so much distress in the world. The poster really must learn to put the day first in the date, not the month.
