The loser in Presidential usually outlives the victorious candidate

    1960 - Kennedy (died aged 46) defeated Nixon (81)

    1964 - Johnson (64) defeated Goldwater (89)

1968 - Exception to the rule as Nixon (81) defeated Humphrey (66)

    1972 - Nixon (81) defeated McGovern (90)

1976 - Score draw as both Ford and Carter have lived into their mid 90s

1980 - Reagan (93) has been outlived by Carter (95*)

1984 - Remains to be seen if Reagan (93) is outlived by Mondale (92*)

1988 - Remains to be seen if Bush (94) is outlived by Dukakis (86*)

1992 - Remains to be seen if Clinton (74*) can outlive Bush (94)

1996 - Remains to be seen if Clinton (74*) can outlive Dole (97*)

The others are a bit too recent to make comparisons but of those only 1968 is where a victor has clearly outlived the defeated candidate.

Also, make a list similar to this but for even earlier presidents

Another " Never heard of him" actor croaks.  Ah fuck it, I'm definitely getting old.

You may be old to 30 year olds, but young to 90 year olds!

Good god. 2020 has been cruel, hasn't it? He was only 42 and had a long acting career ahead of him. R.I.P. to a legend.

43, actually. He even outlived Kobe Bryant, 41 in a helicopter crash in late January this year.

Whilst I am very sorry for the millions of people who were fans of this chap and even more sorry for the man himself and his family, I, for one, have never heard of him, simply because I've never seen any of his films. I even saw his name come up on Wiki Recent Deaths, shrugged and then came here. It's only whilst here that I realise a bit more who he was and what he achieved. Seems like a real talent cut down in his prime.

"Seems like a real talent cut down in his prime?" Similar things have happened like Elvis Presley and Paul Walker.

Even mainstream media is taking it surprisingly seriously. But if true, he would have been two months older than Jiroemun Kimura.

Even again, he was included in Wikipedia's recent deaths list (look at its main page).
