Bit of a sad one for those of us of a certain age...

Alan Merrill of the Arrows dead (coronavirus apparently)

Many fond memories of their ITV programme, and of course they did the original version of 'I Love Rock N Roll'.

Just about to post.

Successfully auditioned for The Left Banke, but the band dissolved. Few hits, Merrill being co-writer on I Love Rock N Roll.

Hmm, I didn't know she made "the switch".

Edit: Ah, if I had watched more foreign reality TV, I would have known...

Samantha Fox makes a new love: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-8173211/Samantha-Fox-53-gets-ENGAGED-girlfriend-Linda-Olsen-45.html

The wedding's on hold, obviously, while we are in the middle of the 'rona.

The new-wave pop singer Cristina has reportedly died at age 61 after being diagnosed with coronavirus.

The singer, whose full name was Cristina Monet-Zilkha, is believed to have died of complications from Covid-19, according to reports from various music channels and those close to the musician. Fans flooded the singer’s Instagram account with comments, expressing their grief.

Cristina is known for dance-pop tunes such as Things Fall Apart, Disco Clone and a cover of Peggy Lee’s Is That All There Is? that were emblematic of the 1980s underground New York scene.

FYI her most popular recordings were produced by Don Was in his Detroit area studio.

What a shame. I always loved "Lovely Day" in particular, one of my cheer-me-up songs, and the way he held that final note for AGES! Wow!!!
RIP Bill Withers :(

Old, heart problems, very close to his family, come on we're all thinking it - did he or didn't he?

It is.  To the point where it's just a meaningless and insincere cliché.

I am genuinely sad that Bill Withers has died though.

Why sad? It's definitely better to be angry
