Ideas And Possibilities For 2018

Recommended Posts

Terry Jones announced he can no longer write as he helped publicise the issue of dementia, he's got to be in the 2018 list if he survives this year.

How was he able to announce it? Eric Idle said a while back that Jones can't speak.

It was reported when he was in attendance at a dementia fundraiser.Presumably his family told the organisers to mention it.

Well there's certainly an echo if you shout your name up there.

One of the things I regret posting, just like I pushed Peter Skellern into the Drop 40 and then didn't pick him...

Sacheen Littlefeather, famous for accepting an Oscar on Marlon Brando's behalf, has lung cancer:

David Cassidy has revealed he has dementia and doesn't appear in top form.

Probably thread-worthy this one. "Teenage crush" as the subhead?

Oh hell - that's really uncomfortable (and fuck knows my comfort threshold goes way beyond the norm). The fact he's falling apart whilst singing that all he wants to do is "make you happy..."

Oh dear

Italian singer and comedian Leone di Lernia has been hospitalized and is described as gravely ill. Won't see the bells, but he wouldn't get any Eglish obits, though.

In the QE2 deadpool I picked right to die campaigner Paul Lamb; not much online but still short of his 60th birthday and well enough known to the media he'll likely get a fleeting mention when it's all die and no right to.

Tony Wild, Isle of Man MLC retired because of ill health:

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-isle-of-man-39027934

I'm only posting this because I'm a bit baffled that the BBC put this in the world news section, and so Wild's death would receive a qualifying obit.

Edit: Or not? because it's not bbc.com.uk?

Edit II: Bah, this was supposed to go into the Ideas and Possibilities thread...

Edit III: Thanks for moving!

It is bbc.co.uk here.

And its under European news, not local, possibly due to the Isle's crown dependency status.

An actress called Bijou Philips needs a kidney transplant due to chronic health issues and a blood infection. Apparently it's looking OK, but might be one for the future if complications occur.

Watching the Beeb's adaptation of Deighton's SS-GB last night, and I'm getting the same vibe off James Cosmo as I did off of Peter Vaughan 18 months afore his demise.Cosmo is younger, but lived harder, and kept catching his breath in delivery. One for a 'watch' list.....
