King Charles III

I can't quite believe this thread will eventually have to be renamed to "King Charles". He'll always be a prince to me.

It will feel odd to say "The King" instead of "The Queen." And he'll be on the stamps and money.

National anthem'll change as well.

This topic needs a new title, when we know the Regnal name.

Long live the King.

I was an Elizabethan, now I'm a Carolean.

Odd feeling.

As some have said, it’s still odd to read ‘King Charles III’.

Maybe the subheading of this thread should be ‘The artist formerly known as Prince’?

We'll see if a guy named Cleombrotus from 1271 was correct in his predictions.

When that the third of this same Letter C. do Reign, Then will be cheap all kind of Grain.

No. It should be "formerly", not "formally".

Although he was formerly formally known as Prince.  :D

As mentioned elsewhere, has pledged to serve until death.

I'd imagine he has a good 10-15 years

I am giving him somewhere from 25-30 years. His father was 99 so if he lives that long that'll give him 26 years.

I think @MortalCaso is closer to the ball park. His ominous use of the phrase "the time remaining to me" and his already ruddy complexion do not suggest to me he will live as long as his father

Not to mention the rigours of the job, especially taking them up at this age. His mother was just a few years short of her Golden Jubilee when she was his age. He'll have to travel a lot over the next year or so, start reading the state papers every day, audiences with the PM and so on. Edward VII lasted 9 years. I agree, 10-15 seems logical.
