It's ok, my country celebrates (well, just celebrated) it's independence on July 4th when in fact the document declaring such was signed on July 2nd. Something about a straggler or two that needed to sign it weren't able to do so until the 4th; but the history books DO note that they were wearing Pierre Cardin chaps. SC

Genshin also known as Eshin Sozu, was the most influential of a number of Tendai scholars active during the tenth and eleventh centuries in Japan. Genshin is credited as the founder of the Enshin school of Tendai Buddhism, and for espousing the "original enlightenment" teaching, or hongaku, where one is originally enlightened, but unaware of it -- like YOU are now after reading this. Genshin - 1000 years ago today!

Yes, but in a plot twist, Stevie Wonder then dies of cancer, and that's why it was a final album.

Yeah, it ain't simple but from the Wikipedia page: The jurisdiction is not part of the United Kingdom, although defence and most foreign relations are handled by the British Government.[4] The entire jurisdiction lies within the Common Travel Area of the British Isles and is not a member of the European Union, but has a special relationship with it, being treated as part of the European Community with access to the single market for the purposes of free trade in goods. So, you could sum it up by saying the Channel Islands take advantage/the piss out of the UK the way the Brexiteers want the UK to take advantage/take the piss out of the EU

So, one to discuss...if that current Rangers crew lined up in the English/Welsh leagues in the coming season; where in the 92 places would they finish? If we assume that European showing was a tad of bad luck because there's little understanding in the new squad I reckon they're somewhere around mid-table league one (58th) Celtic, I guess, could just about keep pace with Everton

The last strike for Ted Williams on this day 15 years ago, aged 83. As an interesting fact, his head and torso are cryogenized separately in Alcor Life Extension Foundation.

Well, I'm going to post one of those horrible late night American posts for Deathray and say that I hope everyone in the US had a great day celebrating Brexit 1776 and to remind everyone else that tomorrow (today?) is Wednesday and we're all that much closer to the weekend. If you work on the weekend I got nothin' for you. I am now going to go secure my dogs 'cause they shoot off the damn fireworks right around the corner.

And I've made it to Poland! Got to gramma's house an hour ago, walked thru the woods with her dog. Now it's time for a hot shower, and to make up my lost sleep - ain't slept a wink in 30+ hours cause I can't fall asleep on planes. Scratch what I said about not visiting as often. I think I'll find the time to pop in a couple times a day. But one thing I'll have to get used to is the forum activity time zone difference. Back in North America, the forum was active in the morning, very active in the afternoon, and almost deserted in the evenings. Now that I'm in Europe it'll be pretty active all day for me as most members are Europeans.

Although some articles say former beauty queen -- I couldn't find anything to support what queendome she won, so I am posting it here. Judy Malinowski, who was horrifically burned by her ex-boyfriend in August 2015, died from her injuries. She was 33. Malinowski’s death comes as the Ohio Senate is on the precipice of passing Judy’s Law, which seeks to increase penalties in cases like hers that leave the victim permanently disfigured through the use of an accelerant. Her ex-boyfriend is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence. (Actually it's 11 years, this article is incorrect. If the law passes and now that she has died, prosecutors will be seeking aggravated manslaughter which will keep this animal in prison for life). SC
