Totally didn't know. Can't believe this wasn't posted in King Michael's own thread... thank you for this informative post Mr. Brittan!

Right so a couple of things: 1) I've deleted some older conversations, so you (and others) should now be able to PM me, YoungWillz. 2) You must also include a joker. I noticed that I forgot to mention this in the first post, so I just edited it now. Luckily, I realized this mistake early on in the process. 3) I now know the official dates of my vacation, and I will be back in Illinois on New Year's Day. Which means I'll have this pool up and running on January 2nd.

So the death of King Michael finally drags the Committee's choice of people over the age of 95 up to the average of expected deaths - not particularly impressive particularly as a lot of them are over 95 so the average should actually be higher (but I cba to work it out year by year). So 16 names on the Death List are 95 or older. Average likelihood to die in a year when you are 95 is 0.233. So picking any random sixteen 95 year olds you could expect 4 of them to die. The 4 are King Michael, Peter Sallis, Jake LaMotta and David Rockefeller. What this means is that if you are 95 or older you don't need to worry about being on the Death List as you are no more likely to die than any other 95 year old. Which suggests that the Committee simply pick on age at random rather than based on any medical evidence (which is probably true in the main with King Michael being an exception). EDIT: Although 7 out of 17 in 2016 was a better success rate as was 6 out of 16 in 2015 so perhaps this is just a good year for being an old person on the Death List.

Three thoughts 1. I finally got an update up before someone reminded me to put up an update. 2. 22/50 in a year - bloody good going everyone, but you know, I think you can beat it in 2018... 3. Oh FFS, all the subs need to come into play now - King Michael was in 2nd place on the 2018 list as it stands!

King Michael takes me to 12 out of 50 for 2017. Looking forward to participating next year, still getting my team together...

TBH not very happy with my shortlist at all. Been too busy to do anything but the most cursory form checking. (I don't spend much time worrying about uniques, I figure every single one of them is on Gcreptile's shortlist...) Will be happy with a 4th top 50 spot in a row in 2018.

Call me a pedant (OK - don't) The BBC source said "Rangers wearing black armbands to mark the passing of Billy Simpson." but nowhere did it mentioned he had DIED. To win points, there must be the mention of a celebrity's death on a national online news source. Is a running commentary on a football match a NEWS SOURCE??? I have personally PASSED Ibrox on numerous occasions (and trust me, that is the best thing you can do if you are in the area) but so far I haven't died too many times. OK, NOW you can call me a pedant, but while you do, please feel free to discuss the above.

You raise an interesting point there; could we put one or more of the original Deathlisters on the Deathlist?

I have a question, and Sorry if it has been answered before, but who is the Committee who choses the list Each Year? Are they the same group that met so many years ago in a pub in Britain? Just curious. (I know you cannot give real names, but could be interesting to know the call-names). Hope the original group are alive and well. Thanks for your efforts everyone!

Death Race Form Guide #12 Whether you like him or not, there's no denying that Robin Williams is an absolute legend who is known for a lot of things. Some people know him for hits such as "Wichita Lineman" or "It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas", while others may recognize him as a guitarist for rock legends AC/DC. Outside of music, he has also had his fair share of acting roles, with some of his legendary performances including his role as Paul Kersey in Death Wish, Scotty in Star Trek, Penguin in the Batman TV shows, and astronaut George Taylor in Planet of the Apes, as well as being the voice of Shaggy in Scooby Doo. Perhaps most notably he refused to give up his seat to another white person, and it's because of this he became the 40th President of the United States 25 years later. In short, he may have had more achievements in life then any other person, well, apart from Javier Perez de Cuellar...
