After lurking for a good while, I thought I'd say hi too. After keeping an eye on the main deathlist for a couple of years, I discovered the forums. I didn't have high expectations, but as it turns out, there are very few forums with a "signal-to-noise" ratio as good as this. Every day I'm getting educated on gay porn stars and african despots alike while getting my morbid deathlist kicks. At the moment I feel very unprepared to contribute anything of substance, but maybe one day...

I'm not prolific enough a poster to be noticed if something did happen to me (I mostly lurk), but I had a stroke 14 years ago this coming week, at the ripe old age of... 27. Yes, I nearly joined the 27 Club! Luckily, I made a quick and virtually full recovery - I have some slight (barely noticeable) reduction in sensation in my left arm as the only residual deficit. Are there any other deathlisters who've had their own brush with 'death', particularly at a relatively young age?
