And yet.... Dragging up a thread last posted in 4 years ago and slinging yet more mud at folks is apparently joining in with the forum community and not looking for a fight at all. You alone are perfectly reasonable it's all these others. Ok.

Ron Tudor, an Australian music industry legend, has died. He was 96. Tudor began in the industry with W&G Records as a sales rep in 1956. He later founded his own label, Fable Records, in 1969. Tudor would hit paydirt in 1970 when his artists recorded their own version of international hits, following 'the Record Ban', where artists like the Beatles were removed from the airwaves. http://www.noise11.com/news/australian-music-industry-legend-ron-tudor-dies-aged-96-20200821

I mean, a backbench MP who focused on trying to protect jobs in his town and only really spoke up over transport issues and protecting endangered animals is sort of chap who gets general respect for being a decent sort, but as another passing political anorak, I'd just like to reaffirm this here: I'd never heard of Ronald Atkins until he became known for being very old. In fact, I think he's more famous now for being an MP who is 104 than for his efforts in the late 60s to promote a Channel Tunnel.

I'm still enjoying the irony of the opening post of this thread.

Christ, I didn't know people who lived in poverty were sullying these hallowed forums. That certainly puts a new complexion on things.

Many happy ones, Time! Shared birthday with Princess Margaret, Barry Norman and Joe Strummer. Or, for people who haven’t had funerals, we have Kim Cattrall off of Sex And The City (64), Dina Carroll off of singing (52) and Kelis off of male-enticing milkshake (41).

Clarissa Eden? Eileen Ash (Whelan)(oldest ever international cricketer)? Ronald Atkins? Certainly Clarissa Eden is known internationally & by nature of her sporting career Eillen Ash is as well. Ronald Atkins as an MP must be known to far more than his former constituents & Roberta McCain is also known due to her late husband & son.

Can't find it on YouTube but The Microphones latest album/single - Microphones in 2020. The album single confusion is understandable since it's ONE song but lasts 44 mins - gorgeous IMHO

That may be true, but a Jimmy Carter like figure sure wouldn’t help!

Is the pronunciation of his name really necessary in the thread title?

Well, yes and no My rock climbing friends developed greater talents than me and quite early on I had an - ahem - extreme learning experience whilst climbing from which I escaped completely unscathed, after which they headed to even more challenging mountains and I started running long distances on roads. A few years after that I was diagnosed with a severe health condition which suggested I was lucky to have seen my most recent birthday (on which I was 29). One hefty chunk of cash and private medical consultation later I was left in no doubt the GP who'd informed me of the problem was so wrong that she had been ill advised to even suggest it.
