2 pointsIt's nearly possible to watch MK's growth here from adolescent to young adult just by noting the improved subtlety of his digs and change up from outright rude to mere sarcasm. Amusing.

2 pointsHello, Arghton. I don't know if this is the right place to ask but could you please make a list for me? I would like a list of the oldest people who produce sex toys that are still alive. I'm thinking of running a theme team
-
2 pointsNo. If you look at the link to that site I posted, there's a page for a chronological list of the oldest Brit. In many instances, the respective title holders did not receive coverage from the national press. Usually only local papers (or even just forum acknowledgements) are absolutely guaranteed. The UK-wide press will only cover it if there's something else to it e.g. Bob Weighton received a lot of coverage before his death and was the oldest man in the world at the time, so he got national headlines when he died. It generally depends on their prominence and/or how long they held the title. We all remember the Florrie Baldwins and Henry Allinghams. I can't for the life of me remember the majority of them though. Largely total non-entities. That maybe sounds harsh but it's true. --- Also, why would the man who specifically researches this for the Gerontology Research Group, and who talks to the respective care homes first hand, list a death on his site which he hadn't had confirmed?

1 pointFred Astaire, the great American dancer, singer and actor with many different dramatic and comedic credits, died of pneumonia in his wife's arms at Century City Hospital in Los Angeles, California on this date in 1987. He was 88 years old. Astaire's stage name is a combination of his mother Johanna's maiden name and an aunt's name. The evaluation of Astaire's first original screen test was: "Can't act. Can't sing. Balding. Can dance a little". But... his style dominated the Hollywood musical genre beginning in the 30's, when he starred in a series of films with Ginger Rogers. Fred Astaire was buried next to his first wife and his sister, in a private ceremony, in Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth, California.

1 pointCall me unconvinced. It seems very odd that no major news outlet would report the death of Britain's oldest person for a full two weeks after her death. That normally gets across the board coverage within days, no?

1 pointAnd she was Damian Lewis' wife. McCrory married Lewis in 2007 and they had two children. They met in 2003 when they were both starring at a theater production in London. They had recently raised over one million pounds to give health workers restaurant meals during the pandemic. Damian was the person to announce the sad news on Twitter. He said: "I'm heartbroken to announce that after an heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family". A talented couple.
