Thread for Rudy Giuliani, once called "America's mayor" after 9/11. A former lawyer and mostly successful former mayor of New York, then a failed presidential candidate who then became Donald Trump's personal lawyer and perpetually drunk little devil on Trump's right shoulder. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudy_Giuliani He's 77 years old now, had prostate cancer, suffered a fall in 2017, got COVID in late 2020. Also, he's a perpetually drunk, flatulent mess: https://www.rawstory.com/rudy-giuliani-fart/ "Speaking to MSNBC on Tuesday, Michael Wolff explained that most Americans don't fully realize how far Rudy Giuliani has deteriorated." He's seriously drunk all the time, some memory problems are starting to appear, and his public appearances are getting more and more absurd. And his law license has been revoked. A prime candidate for a quickly approaching end.

Oh dear, it is such a drought these days that keep me falling asleep, that I totally missed Dilip Kumar as a hit for chilean way, Steve, theoldlady and The Quim Reaper. And the mother of French legend Catherine Deneuve, Renée Simonot, has died on the 11th of July and is a solo hit for Dying Probably. Congrats @all!

I'll take folk posting "RIP" any day over your tedious chronic whinging, referring to yourself in the third person, and the fact you sign off every fucking post with "SC" despite having a username visible.

What actually happened was that Odeon posted that he had died after YW but I didn't see YW's post (as I presume neither did arghton). Then Odeon obviously noticed YW had already posted so edited his post to RIP making me and arghton's sad reactions look a bit stupid and generating both of your comments. Fills the day I suppose.....

I thought her death would be unnoted in France or barely obitable but as the oldest actress ever and Catherine Deneuve's mother she has quite a good coverage

Just 'cos the guys (probably) got a few Bob and still (probably) raking it in doesn't mean we should enjoy his misfortune. The fires and floods can happen to anyone and I've no doubt he's lost a few sentimental valuables in the flooding.

It's nearly possible to watch MK's growth here from adolescent to young adult just by noting the improved subtlety of his digs and change up from outright rude to mere sarcasm. Amusing.

The world of darts doing us a big favour in terms of form-spotting, by launching the Senior Darts Tour. Players include the titular Andy Fordham, prostate cancer "survivors" Martin Adams and Dennis Priestly, pisshead stroke-victim Ted Hankey and pisshead non-stroke victim Keith Deller.

@arghton, I think everyone on the Forum has a certain degree of anxiety with the search function given that it's not the best but I've learnt how to use it better in the last few years. 1) If you don't feed enough characters into it, sometimes it won't return any results. 2) If you type in something like Kenneth Kaunda, it may throw up 200 results of posts where ONLY the word "Kenneth" appears, therefore it's important to put searches with multiple words in quotation marks ("Kenneth Kaunda"). 3) In your searches, also try and account for spelling mistakes/alternative spellings which may have been used in posts instead. Sometimes less is more so a search for Kaunda would bring up relevant posts where users only used his surname as opposed to his full name. Obviously helps when there's a unique sounding surname but... 4) In the case of an individual where both the names are more common e.g. Johnny Johnson, then sometimes it helps by searching threads where you think they would've likely been discussed already. So e.g. go to the The Few/Battle of Britain thread then search "Johnson". It's by no means a perfect search function, it's actually quite flimsy, but if you just vary the ways in which you search then you'll quickly be able to work out who has threads vs. who doesn't.

Just reminded me of a long-standing Urban Legend concerning this American general during the Vietnam War. It is said that he was taken (abducted) by Grey Aliens et al since they figured out he was an influential person. All he did during their interview with him was to give: His Name, Rank and Serial Number - over and over again. They thought he was an idiot and returned him to Earth. He had never denied the incident.

Seriously who the fuck is this person? I mean without looking it up. Did he write Hoppus On Poppus? I am enjoying the irony of the person who started a thread asking what a person should do to have earned a thread—who then creates this thread.

Renée Simonot finally dead at 109. Would have become a supercentenarian in two months. A pick for 7 DDP teams.
