Time for the latest round in the most one sided "rivalry" in Cup history. Reptile vs msc I 2017 Msc (Bracknell, Coward, Christie, Elias, Nevin, Lennart Johansson, Bamber Gascoigne, Akihito, Former Pope Benny, Vera Lynn, Desmond Carrington) Vs Reptile (Nevin, Coward, Angelo Bissessarsingh, Shteinman, Portenski, Ken Ryan, Christie, Murray, Karunanindhi, Chase Simmons, Pope Benny) 1st Feb, 1.33am – Bernie Portenski died. 2-0 Reptile 1st Feb, 8.15pm – Desmond Carrington died, 2-2. 2nd Feb – World famous Trinidad and Tobago historian Angelo Bissessarsingh died. 5-2 Reptile. 13th Feb – Archers star Sara Coward died, 7-4 Reptile. What Went Wrong? Ken Ryan died in January off radar after the sub cut off date and it didn't even matter. I missed out even on same basic DDP names who went in February, such as Steve Sumner, Gerald Kaufman, Peter Skellern and Steve Hewlett. Result – Half assed public hosting team narrowly loses to Reptile leaving a lot of powder in reserve. What happened next? Reptile lost 16-2 in the Quarterfinals to Death Impends, which was a surprise result even then. Reptile vs msc II 2019 Reptile (Crouch*, Hammer, Pedroza, Dones, Parrikar, Harris, Porridge, Clayton, Starling, Capon, Isachsen) Vs msc (Ricksen, Cardenal, Clayton, Capon*, Pratley, Anderson, Porridge, Reid, Pedroza, WT Johnson, Lewis) 1st March – Both teams had Pedroza, 3-3. 12th March – Caroline Isachsen died. Unique pick for Reptile. 7-3. 16th March – Barbara Hammer died. 3 points for Reptile. Groans from Glasgow. 10-3 17th March – Manohar Parrikar, my first sub, died. 3 points for Reptile. 13-3. 17th March – Edmund Capon, msc’s joker died. Reptile also had him. 16-9 28th March – Both sides had poor old Billy Clayton. 19-12. What went wrong? missed some good picks like Rob Restuccia and Luke Perry due to his team needing to go in early. I also forgot Barbara Hammer, which caused a massive forum contretemps over how could I have heard of this secret name multiple people had picked on the DDP. Dropping Bernie Torme also proved a bad decision. Bishop Quinn was my third sub to die, and it also KO’d Heef, who vanished off the forum! Result – MsC Hammered (quote, @Bibliogryphon ) What happened next? Reptile brushed Pedro aside in the last sixteen, before losing to a sensational performance from Banana in the Quarterfinals. Reptile vs msc III 2021 Reptile (Saranya*, Gulpilil, Igglesden, Axel Kahn, Rick Laird, Lubbock, Sakti Mishra, Gary Moore, Sandra Richardson, Steiner, Digital Nun) Vs msc (MakSim*, Dole, Sasha Johnson, Rick Laird, Lubbock, Andre Rademan, Raissouni, Sadat, Saranya, Steiner, Digital Nun) 5th July – Rick Laird died. 3-3 in the final. 6th July – Axel Khan died. 7-3 Reptile 9th July – Jehan Sadat died. 7-7 14th July – Andre Rademan died. 11-7 msc 15th July – Gary W Moore died. 11-11, Reptile lead the tie on younger average age difference. What went wrong? I dropped Mick Bates after 2 months, and he promptly died. Orlando Drummond was another drop, and Anvar Iqbal and Carlos Reuteman never made the final eleven. Any one of these four would have won the whole thing. Result – A draw. But still a loss. What happened next – This was the final, so Reptile won the Cup! Reptile v msc IV 2022 Reptile (Perez*, Zahra, McCall, Scarborough, Field, Catoir, Thomas, Hossain, Taylor, Phelan, Zhirinovsky) Vs msc (Qureshi*, Kojo-Kum, Apple Watts, McCall, D James, Field, Perez, M Cain, Maurice Norman, Steiner, Zhirinovsky) The end zone? Both teams have George Perez, but he’s Reptile’s joker. Zhirinovsky/McCall/Field are on both sides, so irrelevant. Both sides left out one of popular DDP picks Susie Steiner and Vicky Phelan, and that may come back to haunt someone. I went for broke with Maurice Norman (he’s not dead, Sir Creep, it was a premature death announcement), Apple Watts (her actual injuries don’t sound that bad but the posts about her are surprisingly grim). But I think we’ll know the layout of this tie within the first 5 days, as my joker will either be dead by then, or recovering. Expected result? What do you think? All of Reptile’s hitherto unknown to me names are literally shitting end stage cancer. What to do next? Yell at Google for not telling me about a critically ill cricketer when that’s one of the things I specifically had a look for!

Fauja Singh is an age faker, he couldn't produce a birth certificate to prove his age and someone said that he'd have been born in/around 1928. I have no idea if that's date is true, but apparently people in the village he's from (Beas Pind) know that he isn't the age he claims to be. Also, Stanislaw Kowalski deserves more attention. He's an actual supercentenarian, oldest notable person, fifth-oldest living man, sixth-oldest notable person ever, second-oldest notable man ever (after Alphaeus Philemon Cole) and the oldest man + third-oldest person in his country ever.

Have been some health rumours about him in recent years but nothing substantial. Can't remember the last time I've seen him on tv and while that's a good thing music-wise, it could be something age or health related.

Tomb Carker Tom Parker, one fifth of now-4-piece boy band The Wanted, and the youngest of this thread's 50 eligible picks, has died of brain cancer at the age of 33. While Derby Dead Pool players may be saying "I'm glad you came" to the reaper, this is a most unwanted surprise for the majority of Inverse Dead Pool players, with 26 of you now asking yourselves: how do you get up from an all time low? And, will the 22 players now tied in joint 1st place stay gold forever? And, was he on the organ donor list for anyone with a heart vacancy? And, who knew The Wanted had any lyrics to riff on that aren't just some variant of "whoa oh oh"? Despite being at the wrong end of the 12-to-18-month prognosis for glioblastoma, Parker was a more popular Inverse pick this year than last – which I can't blame you for, given that he was seen performing on ITV with the group in December, and was booked for reunion tour dates this very month. Even more tragically, the thought of bands who debuted in the 2010s already being on reunion tours has doubtless made several of you reading this post suddenly die of old age. They said this day wouldn't come, we refused to run, we've only just begun, you'll find us looking at the inaugural Inverse Dead Pool leaderboard of 2022.
