2 pointsPete Murray well enough to be interviewed in a new Channel 5 doc about the Eurovision. I mean, for a man who is 97 in a few months, he looked good, but in general, he looked a bit knackered. Maybe one for 2023 if DLy enough.

2 pointsJim Henson died on this day 32 years ago, aged 53. Besides the Muppets, Sesame Street, and Fraggle Rock, you may remember Henson for directing either the cult classic The Dark Crystal (1982) or Labyrinth (1986), the latter of which starred David Bowie. Did you know that Kermit wasn't created for the Muppets? Henson originally created him in 1955 for Sam and Friends, a show Henson created that was locally broadcasted in Washington, DC. A similar-looking and sounding character that Henson created that has erroneously been referred to as a prototype of Kermit was Wilkins, a mascot for the Wilkins Coffee company that Henson made commercials for from 1957 to 1961- Henson would also use them to advertise for other coffee companies in the Washington, DC area, as seen in this compilation below: Henson died of a streptococcus infection. One of his public memorial services in July 1990 featured puppeteer Carroll Spinney as Sesame Street character Big Bird performing his song "(It's Not Easy) Bein' Green":

1 pointMMMDP Form Guide #5 Cllr Nigel Taylor A Conservative who made promises that appealed to many, specifically that he was stepping down in February because the "months to live" meant he thought the whole of April an ambitious target. Whether his continued well-being ranks alongside any Brexit related lies, the blather about the Northern Ireland protocol or Boris Johnson's occasional inability to recall exactly how many children he has, where he might have spent a particular night or how much cake and wine it takes before a work meeting tips into a party is something of a moot point. DL Cup jokers have been wasted in recent weeks. But, could the man redeem himself by being the one to win MMMDP?

1 pointMMMDP form guide #4 Peter Tobin Scottish serial killer with possibly quite a few victims yet to be identified. Slowly dying from cancer in prison for years, and regularly hospitalised since last year. The police is still following some leads to prove more of his crimes so they can ask him while he still breathes - which kind of implies that they have to hurry.

1 pointWell what would you do if you were in a war you didn’t want to fight? Would you suck it up and fight or would you run away like the coward you are every time you’ve been confronted on this forum? Given you probably spend your entire day lazing on your ass in a very comfortable position instead of actually doing some basic ass thinking of the situation at hand you are not even remotely qualified to judge this situation. You fucking cunt

1 pointOh, that goes without saying. Yes, and I don't agree with all the hand-wringing over suicides and the mindset that people should be stopped. If someone wants to end their life because they find it intolerable, that's their choice. And all the sad head-shaking "If only s/he'd talked to someone". Well, they probably did and people didn't have time for them, or couldn't do anything to change things for them, and at best came out with trite platitudes. It's often noted that they seemed really happy in the last days of their life - that's because they had made the decision and their problems didn't matter any more. A shame it wasn't like that for this fellow. Yes - killing someone who they hold responsible for their misery is understandable to a degree. It's revenge. It can also be "If I can't have them, nobody else will". These are usually domestic tragedies. Killing random strangers I think comes out of rage, frustration and jealousy. From what I've seen of this guy's thinking, he's killed people he perceived to have (or have had) the happy normal life he craved. Which is basically everybody else. Yes. My mother used to have a business in Hungerford and was there most days. When it happened I was in Germany and I only found out about it from seeing a newspaper headline. It wasn't even a German paper, but a Dutch one I spotted in a rack outside a shop. I managed to make out the gist of what had happened, but the victims weren't named. Hugely relieved when my mum answered the phone!
