I didn't know that. He could have won me the Scavenger Hunt 4 if it was still going!

On this day 26 years ago in 1997 british actress, comedienne and performer in English music hallsJill Summers died aged 86. Jill was in showbusiness for 80 years. Infact she was born into a family of performers, her father was a circus tightrope walker and her mother a revue artist. She found national level fame late in life when she was cast in Coronation Street as eccentric purple haired pensioner Phyliss Pearce, who was slightly obsessed with trying to pursue a romantic relationship with pensioner Percy Sugden. Up to a point Phyliss was a bit of a comedy character and was often heard saying in a sort of raspy and flamboyant voice Oooh Percy. Percy Percy! as she chased him in pursuit of love!!. Many Coronation Street cast members who worked with Jill and wrote autobiographies such as Julie Goodyear, Bill Waddington and Lynne Perrier, spoke extremely highly of Jill, her professionalism and her naughty cheeky humour. I am aware of chatter in some of the working mens clubs and Royal British legion clubs in Merseyside of pre Coronation Street stories of Jill when she performed in this venues pretty much universally saying the same thing. A lovely warm hearted lady with a heart of gold but with an incredibly dirty and vulgar sense of humour who told some incredibly dirty jokes!! More so off stage after the show or in the dressings rooms

Constantine I of Greece died on this day 100 years ago, aged 54. Constantine was the son of king George I, and was known for helping organize the first modern Olympics in 1896. In 1897, Constantine became the commander-in-chief of the Army of Thessaly during the Greco-Turkish War, and would again lead this army in the First Balkan War in 1912. Constantine became king after the assassination of his father in 1913, and soon had to decide whether to join World War I- his PM, Eleftherios Venizelos, wanted to fight for the Allies, while Constantine wanted to remain neutral (likely due to Kaiser Wilhelm being his brother-in-law). Venizelos soon formed a militia that declared war on the Central Powers, and led to a period known as the "National Schism". The Allies soon put pressure on Constantine to abdicate, and after Tsar Nicholas II was overthrown in 1917, none of their leaders supported Constantine. Threats from the Allies to bomb Athens caused him to flee to neutral Switzerland, with his son Alexander becoming king in his absence. Constantine would return to Greece as king in 1920 after Alexander's death from sepsis and Venizelos losing the election. The country was in the midst of another war with Turkey (at the time breaking away from the disintegrating Ottoman Empire), and attempted to siege Ankara- this failed, and after another military revolt, Constantine abdicated, with his son George II succeeding him. He would die of heart failure in Italy four months later. The newly-deceased Constantine II was his grandson (his father was King Paul, George II's successor).

I actually considered her at some point last year for my dames team but didn’t even put her a sub depsite the fact she is 90 in a few weeks. If she makes 2024 she will be on it for sure. In fact depending on her health she could be a contender for the main list - she is famous enough

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angie_Dickinson Thought it was about time that the deathlist forum stopped overlooking Hollywood's beautiful butterscotch blonde sex symbol of the 1950s, 60s and beyond Angie Dickinson. Former lover of Frank Sinatra, ex wife of music genius Burt Bacharach (and rumoured to have had liaisons with US President John F Kennedy) and one of the ever few figures from this era of Hollywood still with us I thought she warranted her own thread! Not to mention her breakthrough role in American cop show Policewoman and her much praised role in 1980 film Dressed to kill. Not that I have any reason to believe she's in any immediate danger of slipping of the mortal coil but I just feel she warrants her own thread. Now aged 85 but still seems quite active although not in acting roles. Sadly lost her only child, daughter (with Bacharach) Nikki to suicide in 2007.

Exactly. Who do we think replaced likely inclusions Barbara Walters and Pope Benedict at the last minute? Pete Murray and Andy Taylor? I also think Marianne Faithfull stood in for Pelé's last minute dropout.

A few recent articles. Translated with Google Translate https://peopleenespanol.com/noticias/lista-predijo-muerte-reina-isabel-ervela-nombres-de-celebridades-que-moriran-2023/ People en Espanol's article. The chilling list —in which no one wants to appear— enjoys great prestige for having accurately predicted the death of many celebrities, as was the case with its list that by 2022 included Queen Elizabeth II , who died on September 8 of that year (at) 96 years . For this 2023 the list includes the rocker Tina Turner, currently 84 years old and who tragically lost her son in 2022. According to its authors, the increasingly famous list follows rigorous criteria. --- Univision: https://www.univision.com/entretenimiento/cultura-pop/the-deathlist-lista-predicciones-famosos-2023 In 2022 they predicted some deaths that did come true and resounded in every corner of the planet, such as that of Queen Elizabeth II at 96 years of age and the most recent, that of soccer player Pelé who faced a tough battle against cancer. In total last year, of its 50 mentions, 14 were correct, which included Mikhail Gorbachev, the former president of the Soviet Union, the renowned Franco-Swiss film director Jean-Luc Godard or the prodigious American pianist Jerry Lee Lewis, just for mention a few. --- Last but not least Slovakia's Plus jeden deň's article: https://www1.pluska.sk/soubiznis/zahranicny-soubiznis/foto-naj-morbidnejsi-rebricek-roka-je-tu-tieto-zname-osobnosti-su-listine-smrti-2023 Every year, the website deathlist.net publishes the names of world celebrities who belong to the 50 unlucky ones . The ranking is made up, as every year, by well-known personalities from all spheres of social life. See with us a selection of the most famous ones. And if you were surprised by any of the nominations, know that the person in question was probably much more surprised than you... The year 2022 was one of the darkest in terms of mortality. In the previous year, well-known celebrities went to the starry sky. Among them were American actor Clarence Gilyard Jr., Scottish comedian and actor Robbie Coltrane, German actor Ralf Wolter, French writer Jean Teulé, American rapper Coolio, former president of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev, keyboardist and founder of Depeche Mode Andrew and Brazilian football legend Pelé . They also have introductions for some of the DL celebrities, Robert Duvall's one says: Legendary actor Robert Duvall (91) is one of the last living actors from the legendary Godfather. The representative of Michael Corleone's court lawyer and adviser will soon celebrate his 92nd birthday. Despite his advanced age, the actor is extremely active and has not yet nailed the film craft.

Tate is one of the biggest online personalities in the world right now and definitely merits his own thread if fame alone is the measure. However... Is he old? No. Is he ill? No. Would he kill himself? No. Could somebody kill him? Very remote chance. Creating a thread for him will just create a surge of off topic discussion like the Prince Harry, Trump, Truss, Johnson, Obama threads etc.
