There's been some discussion on this over on the Wrestling Heritage site: one name that should be on the list here is "Super Destroyer" Pete Roberts who's believed to be around 82. Last Kent Reunion he attended, he looked little different from his wrestling days and indeed, looked like he could still manage a few rounds!

Juan Ponce Enrile, incumbent Chief Presidential Legal Council of the Philippines, Marcos' Minister of Defence and martial law administrator, lawyer, crook and what else is 99 today. Due to his age and the fact that he's still active and a member of the current cabinet, he's been a subject of tons of jokes, videos, images, memes on how he's immortal in recent years. Below two images I found on Facebook with a quick search.

I don't have an exact birth date, but according to this French language article from January 2022, Len 'Kojak' Shelley was 81 at the time it was written. Presuming Shelley is now 82, he was likely born in 1940. https://www.viva-media.ca/la-voix-regionale-vaudreuil-soulanges/culture-vs/arts-visuels-vs/dune-toile-a-lautre-pour-len-shelley/

I looked at California Senator Padilla's term, and it looks like he had to conduct two elections in November at once: to finish the 2 months of the 117th Congress (Special) and full term in the 118th. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_United_States_Senate_elections_in_California

Back in hospital. Still doesn’t look too great in his recent videos either.

On this day 40 years ago in 1983, German athlete and Olympic gold medallist Lina Radke died aged 79. She won the first ever 800m female athletics race at the Olympics in 1928. On this day 2 years ago in 2021 Welsh professional snooker player Doug Mountjoy, who managed to rank in the worlds top 16 snooker players for 11 consecutive years from the 1970s onwards, died aged 78.

Wrote the screenplay for Life and Loves of a She Devil and only survived Fay Weldon by a few weeks. Also wrote that strange First Born miniseries sometimes mentioned on here (Charles Dance and gorillas), and one of the weirder Crackers.

Oh poor Ornella, I really love her. She has disminished quite rapidly I think but she probably can last one more year I think (at least I hope, so I can put her on my list) lucky you, you were at Sanremo

I saw her yesterday. Physically she looked like a monster, she didn't seem to be very lucid and she asked for artichokes instead of flowers LOL Yet, I believe 2023 is not her year.

What amazed me was how small the guy was. I always assumed he was six footish. He looked tiny in that chair being interviewd by Grade.

I know he was a marmite figure, I know some thought him a zany comedy figure who said controversial things for attention, once upset Andrew Sachs, and who famously got involved in elections he didn't understand, but man, bit disapppointed Chomsky would hurt this reputation by teaming up with Russell Brand here...

Interesting Video about an interesting person. Sir Nicholas Winton saved 669 Jewish prisoners from certain death in a concentration camp. Many of those rescued were at that time even more children and adolescents. For decades Winton lived a life of discretion and confidentiality, up to this special day he was invited and surprised from BBC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_nFuJAF5F0 This man has saved nearly 700 people from the worst fate of the earth. This in itself is impressive enough. But almost touching the restrained and modest species, which he has retained.

Good picks. Unfortunetely Charles Townes died few days ago, Maybe you can substitute him with I.M. Pei. He`s regarded as the most important living architect worldwide. Would also be an option for DL 2016 and in some respects an equivalent successor for Oscar Niemeyer (DL candidate died 2013).
