Kissinger is more well known worldwide than the Queen Mother imo, although I still think that Kirk Douglas was the most famous centenarian.

I cannot take anyone giving plus points to Barbie Girl seriously and will assume they’re just trolling. Other opinions are afuckingvailable.

Francisca Viveros Barradas, known professionally as Paquita la del Barrio, the exceptional and successful Mexican actress, singer, and songwriter, a rough mainstream bolero and ranchera music singer who has recorded more than 30 albums, best known for her feminist songs with aggressive lyrics against macho attitudes, is 76 today. Christopher Meloni, the intense American actor, a splendid performer with an impressive resume of sublime works, whose breakout role was Chris Keller, a bisexual and psychotic serial killer (with interesting full-frontal nude scenes) on "Oz" (excellent show) in 1998, widely known for his role as the explosive Detective Elliot Stabler on the popular and long-running NBC series "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", is 62 today.

An argument could be made for Dame Vera Lynn as well in my opinion. Her almost century long career and being seen as "Forces Sweetheart" during WW2: Songs like We'll Meet Again and White Cliffs of Dover which capture the time of the war. And the fact she was alive 75 years later was just so surprising and lovely.

Estelle Harris died on this day a year ago, aged 93. - Harris' career began as an actress for TV advertisements. In one year, she starred in 25 of them, earning the nickname "Queen of Commercials". - It wouldn't be until 1992 when her career began to take off, when she was cast as George Costanza's mom Estelle on Seinfeld. - She would then often be cast in Disney movies and shows (usually voice acting roles), including Tammy Turtle in Mickey Mouse Works and House of Mouse, Mama Lipsky in Kim Possible, Dave's sword Lula in Dave the Barbarian, Muriel in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Mrs. Boogin in Teacher's Pet: The Movie, and most notably Mrs. Potato Head beginning in Toy Story 2: - Other than Disney, she also voiced Professor Farnsworth's mother in Futurama and Death's mother in Family Guy. - Harris debuted on DeathList 2022, and was its third hit.

Oh come on now, that Fugees track slaps! My only gripe is that just the 3 minus points went to Oasis rather than 6. What a prick tease.

I would still give that distinction to someone like the Queen Mother, but some might disagree.

I remember the Finnish Gladiators "Gladiaattorit", but I was never a big fan of it. Suprisingly only two of those competitors from the original show are dead, the most notable ones - cannibal murderer Virpi Butt and controversial steroidfilled "politician" personality Tony Halme and all the living ones are doing fine as far as I know. The second host narrator Minna Aaltonen is also dead. The original presenter Juha-Pekka Jalo b 1957 suffered a heart attack in 2014 and retired a year or two ago. Jucci Hellström from the 2017 revival has or had cancer and has had some other ailments, but don't know his current condition.

Vaclav Klaus' yearly birthday wish for Kundera, here's the "important" part: Dear and kind Mrs. Vera, tomorrow is the 94th anniversary of the birth of your husband, the great writer and great personality of modern Czech history, Milan Kundera. I know about his state of health, and therefore I know that I cannot write to him and that I should write to you. I know that you have devoted yourself to him for many decades, and we all have to thank you for that on this very day.

I also wish you the same, @deadsox. I cannot believe my good fortune to be competing on the pool with you, a legendary champion with immense class. It is going to be an honour. Good luck.

April variant then. 8th March to 8th April On this day (using only the final contenders per year...) 2016 DDT 106 Death Impends 102 Spade Cooley 94 Pan Breed 89 Heading Nowhere 88 Bert 84 So many deaths in March 2016... So many in fact, that my Maths skills start to struggle, and produced 3 different scores for DI! 2015 Death Impends 55 Spade Cooley 40 DDT 34 2014 Spade Cooley 41 DDT 22 Drunkasaskunk 30 Only change here (apart from the Glasgow chap’s Vernita Gray unique) is my fixing a maths error in Spade’s total from last month. 2013 OoO 83 DDT 75 Death Impends 73 Crossing the Styx 65 Spade Cooley 46 This Mortail Coil 45 The debonair gentleman spy of the Deathlist forums was being heavily chased by the local undertaker and a future admin. Spade was doing far better but needed some obscure Millwall guy to die in May and obit, and the odds of that were very low indeed. And yes, I know, Jack Pardee didn’t obit till months later. Like I’d remember to retro-add that later... 2012 DDT 60 ‘arry-Kiri 45 OoO 41 Spade Cooley 33 Norfolk and Good 21 I did note Jim Stynes health in 2012 but never picked him as I was unsure about a QO. Anyhow, the ten points he gave out on death helped DDT, as did nabbing another 10 for a unique on Bert Sugar. One of the more surprising unique hits in DDP history, that, or am I just showing my genre bias? Although, obviously I never picked him either. Jock Hobbs (9 points) and Miguel de la Madrid (7 points) also added to a firm charge by the Devonian lord of darkness... 2011 DDT 52 As it says... 2010 If I’m Spared Myself of Course 31 Canadian Paul 23 Tonight Matthew 22 ‘arry-Kiri 17 DDT 16 Rot in Hell John 15 Impaled on the Antlers 15 Banshees 14 OoO 14 Toast might not have lead the actual table at this point, but she leads the 2010 contenders table at this point, because nothing happened in the previous month. The most exciting thing to happen in March 2010 was Harry Carpenter falling down some stairs (a unique pick by some randomer), and and someone shot Eugene Terreblanche. The latter of which I found out on the day we paid for the venue for my wedding! 2009 Heaven Knows They’re Miserable Now – 61 DDT – 55 No Noose is Good Noose – 49 Tonight Matthew 31 Banshees 29 Impaled on the Antlers – 19 Noose picked up 16 points on a shot warlord. Ja(n)e Goody was an early miss for HKTMN, and a gain for Tonight Matthew. DDT missed out on Ms. Goody too... 2008 Godot’s Waiting List 70 DDT 68 The Man in Black 63 Canadian Paul 37 Banshees 34 Wormer 26 TMIB still within touching distance thanks to Charlton Heston. Only Richard Widmark separates Godot and DDT...
