3 pointsDid nobody tell those doctors he's in the DDP Drop 40? I thought they were supposed to serve the public!
-
3 pointsYeah, I'm watching ITV News as we speak and he's on about how this new treatment has given him a new lease on life and is likely to live a lot longer than he initially expected.

3 pointsI got 3 facepalms from user "mymango" for suggesting that Jimmy Carter's situation is not that urgent (in May and June). Whoever that is, I was right, you were wrong.

2 points@Commtech Sio Bibble Thank you for efficiently crediting all the Michela Murgia entries so soon and updating the scoreboard. Another URL reporting Murgia's Morte https://www.corriere.it/cultura/23_agosto_10/morta-michela-murgia-1d404ff2-3487-11ee-aa95-d76d2964c992.shtml

1 pointAs a Pole, I've decided that we, the Slavs, need our own thread. Here we can discuss deaths and ideas for future Deathlists - as long as they drink vodka like it's water AKA they are Slavic. I recommend former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev for the DL 2016.

1 pointThe Dictionary Deadpool Each participant must pick a 10 letter word reasonably valid in the Oxford English Dictionary and then for each letter of the word choose a ‘celebrity’ who’s first or last name matches with the corresponding letter (similar to the ABC deadpool). If your chosen word includes the same letter more than once, please choose different ‘celebrities' for each. Example - Strawberry Simon Cowell Terry Gilliam Ryan Reynolds Alan Alda William Shatner Barlow, Thelma Ewards, Huw Roberts, Eric Roberts, Julia Yuri Oganessian Scoring - Each death will be scored based on the value of the letter in the English language Scrabble so in the example above Thelma Barlow would be worth 3 points as B is worth 3 in Scrabble. There's no difference in points whether first or last name is used, however Alliterative Names, such as Alan Alda, will score double points. Unique picks are worth an extra point. Unique & Alliterative picks are worth triple points. General Rules - Entries close at midday (BST) August 4th and must be sent by private message. Usual deadpooling rules apply (have to be reasonably famous, no death row picks etc…). Make sure to clarify who you’ve chosen if necessary or else the first google result will be used. No need to pick subs, if one of your picks dies in the next week I'll PM you to ask for a replacement. I’m not particularly fussed about obituaries just as long as there’s enough proof to say they’re dead (a wikipedia edit won’t cut it but a reputable tweet might). The game will last until either someone has all ten of their picks die or until one year after starting (August 4th 2024). This is my first time creating a deadpool so if anything is unclear or you have any questions feel free to ask!

1 pointI like the symmetry of both 70s games having an outer space song end up at second place.

1 pointBut you never left. You've been online daily ever since you created that thread.

1 pointSad about this one. Mrs Warboys was a brilliant character. First of the main cast to go too.

1 pointHospitalised after a fall at home: https://www.tmz.com/2023/08/09/senator-dianne-feinstein-hospitalized-trip-fall-shingles-health-san-francisco/ Hottest future DeathList material since John McCain.

1 pointNothing new then ? Except that he is really sick which they didn’t clearly said at first. Will he make it to september ?

1 pointGrandson interviewed. (After your elimination, you gave a very moving speech about your grandfather, revealing to the group that he'd recently been put in hospice care. Have you been able to visit him since filming?) It's been harder and harder to see him. My mom spends a lot of her time with him. She spends almost half her time taking care of him at this point just because of things like COVID regulations. So it's really family oriented. I haven't been seeing him as much recently, but he knows that I love him and we're supporting him through this time. (How is he doing?) He's pretty sick. He still does use his brain. He listens to audiobooks. He's a genius. He's super smart. I love him. He always wants to be doing something with his mind, so he's trying to keep himself busy, but he is really sick and getting older. (It was also made public since the show that your grandmother, Rosalynn Carter, has been battling dementia. How is she doing?) I just want to say that she's an amazing woman. She's put in so much work in her life. She's done things for mental health. I want everyone to know how incredibly important and beautiful she is as a person and a grandma. Yeah, she does have dementia and when I see her, she does forget what's going on sometimes, but when she remembers it's amazing. I love her.

1 pointBob Flag, musician and actor whose roles include Dennis Nielsen in Cold Light Of Day and Alan Rathbone in Calendar Girls. reportedly dead in Japan: Same guy in this video: However, we are all going to remember him as the face of Big Brother from the film 1984 and the accompanying Eurythmics track.

1 pointon this day 77 years ago, future President and future First Lady Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter got married.

1 pointYou think that lot started with Stop the War, I used to be mates with a student activist involved in these idiots the timeline for most of the decreped old codgers who were involved (this was the Stop the Cuts era) - many of them were basically hippy leftovers from the counter-culture who smoked so much pot and did so much LSD they never grew up.... Stop the Cuts > Stop the War > Socialist Worker Party > Militant > CND/Ban the Bomb Many of them would have also stopped off at Black Bloc / PETA, / Liberation Front / Animal Rights / Unite Against Fascism on the bus to bonkers stopping at batshit. I'm not saying many these organisations (Black bloc excepted) didn't have members who weren't crust lunatics from a tiny subset of society who protest for the rights of boiled cabbages if it meant scrapping with police, just that a fuck load of those involved in all of these movements are exactly that.... (One of the mods obviously agrees - quickest post approval in history )
