5 pointsAs I have alluded to before I have worked in care.I worked in a care home for 5 years and left less than 2 months ago.We had a lady who had lived with us for 23 years. She used to get up at 5:30 am then complain about it but woe betide you if you altered her schedule.Heard this evening she died last night aged 98 and given the fact she lost a lung to TB as a child had a horrendous spinal condition from birth and had a pre existing heart condition her longevity was a miracle. She had a tongue as sharp as they come albeit vicious at times and used to take up all my time on my 12 hour nightshifts more often than not.Saw her more than all but the closest of family for 5 years.Dementia cruelly took away so much but her spirit towards the end but that indomitable spirit was never broken. She was the Queen mother of our care home. Her kindness and empathy meant she always made you feel like family but she had the difficult maddening stubbornness meaning that she was fundamentally flawed which made her feel even more like family. She used to hand me sweets and offer me all her food for the week and got offended when I always inevitably declined.Another carer stole from her before I started and she stated " why didn't she just ask I would have given her the clothes off my back if she needed would have handed her my purse..but she stole off me" . A woman who walked until she was 92 who as a small child was told she would never walk.A complex lady who was an integral part of my life and less consequentially livelihood for 5 years. This one hits hard and all of us who knew her are feeling it.Hoping she is with her twin sister .her husband and many jack Russells in the sky right now. ♥️

2 pointsI may be misquoted. I would love this tae finish top 5, but I’m realistic and accept at some point it’ll be sent packing. My goal is tae delay that as long as possible, hopefully top 10. Seems lucky to make top 15.

2 pointsNovember 22 Fifteenth hit: Joss Ackland A belated update, but well worth the wait. While there has been discussion on the order of hits, Ackland vs Rosalynn Carter, (thanks to @tracy for researching this; it could be essential in the event of a tie), as stated above, I'm using the order they're listed on the DL front page. As this game is additive, the order of operations doesn't matter. A middle of the road pick with just exactly a third of punters with the correct call. Considerable leap frogging in this update, with one player scoring +8 for marking their joker and matching the hits exactly. Congrats to @Bibliogryphon! This has been a hit for 10 punters (9 hits, 1 joker). Sparse number of Third hit bonuses, although @Book becomes only the second player to reach the 3x bonus, having successfully called 9 hits. Total hits: 10 Teams with hit: 9 Punters:Joltin Joe, The Daredevil, chilean way, ThereWillBeDeaths7, wannamaker, Etushispushingupdaisies, tracy, Book, Newjack In the strategy post I commented that it was rare that a player had two of the 'middle road' picks. Well @tracy has been the only one to chalk up the two recent hits of Rosalynn Carter and Ackland. Teams with joker: 1 Punters: Bibliogryphon The last joker to be cashed in was Barker; with this hit that is 23/30 jokers cleared. Third hit bonus First round (3 hits): N/A Second round (6 hits): chilean way Third round (9 hits): Book Within 5 predicted hits: chilean way, Summer in Transylvania (20 predicted hits) Within 1 predicted hit: theoldlady, gcreptile, wannamaker, LizLemon, Newjack (16 predicted hits) Exact hit match: Joltin Joe, YoungWillz, Bibliogryphon, Sean (15 predicted hits) Return of pentalies for those with low hit predictions. Being out by 2 hits (-2 points): Great Uncle Bulgaria, diego (13 predicted hits) This removes the +2 for being within one hit of the current total. Joltin Joe and Bibliogryphon are tie for 1st place with positive scores! A crowded 2nd place with 4 players - note @DoorSlammer's rank thanks to many correct hits. As the number of hits increases the higher guessing players are dominating the field. Will that continue? Only 39 more days to find out. 2 pointsShe had a Death List type sense of humour. Her room was next to the so called cursed room where 7 men died in 5 years and she informed the man who moved in there of that fact when he moved in.

1 pointThere is nothing better in my opinion and she was the archetype of that type of lady.Heart of gold but mouth as sharp as a sharpened Swiss army knife .An insult was an honour and a compliment was the biggest and most genuine of compliments. I remember when I was off on leave and came back and came to wake her up at 05:30 and she said my name then winked, smiled and said "good to have you back".Considering she would tell me over and over again when I started " you know fucking nothimg" that was the ultimate compliment.A young girl who started the other week as I was leaving asked for advice and I simply said get to know " name redacted" and don't piss her off and you will go far.

1 point5 US Presidents are currently older than the oldest living former First Lady: Carter, Biden, Trump, Bush Jr and Clinton. The Carter's marriage also went for longer than any of the living First Ladies' current lifespans.

1 pointIn a world that has recently suffered from Johnson and Trump and Bolsonaro, how the fuck do people in elections still look at their far-right populist lunatic candidate and think "yep, they'll take us to greatness"? Jesus fuckface Christ.

1 pointfew others names that I haven't seen mentioned a lot and that are 100% DL worthy : - Yayoi Kusama : mentioned here, cult pike and imo, the only artist who's 100% worthy of her own thread and DL inclusion. - James Ivory, Woody Allen and Roman Polanski : I know Eastwood will probably be the only filmmaker to make it into the list, but Woody Allen has looked decrepit for years, Ivory is 96 next year (and famous enough) and Polanski's turning 91 with sexual assault condamnation and everything. I don't see any of them reaching 2026. - Isabel Peron : if there is one politician that has been overlooked, it's her. 93 next year, president of Argentina is, I think, famous enough to guarantee tons of qo. Was said to be in poor health a few years ago. - Petula Clark : I always thought she'd be the kind of picks the committee would love. Still, she has been overlooked a lot. Just turned 91 and famous enough. - Quincy Jones : nearly died of Covid if I remember well (do I?) or at least was hospitalized a while ago. 91 next year and ofc famous enough. - Raoni : presumably 91 this year, quite frail in his last appearances, I think he'd be a great pick for non-eu interests and legendary enough - Quentin Blake : few mentions a while ago and nothing since, 91 in two weeks, doesn't seem like a committee pick but a personal favorite of mine and famous enough - Berry Gordy and Clive Davis : weird that they're hardly mentioned here as they're two of the most influential and prominent music produced of all time. Gordy's turning 94 in a few days, Davis is 92. Gordy will probably go first. Should deserve a place on next year's list imo - Don King : wasn't he hospitalized earlier this year ? or rumoured dead ? anyway, at 92, wouldn't be such a bad pick even though he might be less famous than others in this list - Caroll Burnett : still active apparently and doesn't look bad for a 90 woman but an icon and her camp attitude seems like the kind of thing that attracts the committee. And myself. - Jane Goodall : a more niche name maybe but a personal favorite. Dunno how her health is but she's 90 and should be considered. - Valentino and Giorgio Armani : I campaigned for the inclusion of Mary Quant last year. Turned out I was right but was she famous enough ? Imo yes but not for the committee. These two seem way more famous and at 91 and 89, I'd say they'd be great addition - Rita Moreno, Mitzi Gaynor : famous enough, old enough, Gaynor hasn't been seen in a while. Moreno still here and there but a shame that they're not mentioned that much here. - Franki Valli : this one seems to me like the kind to drop dead from nowhere. Canceled a few show this year. Still touring but for how much longer ? He's 100% cult enough and has been overlooked for way too long, at nearly 90 he deserves his spot. - Warren Buffett : in case you're bored of Murdoch… - Shirley McLaine and Warren Beatty : just for the sake of having siblings on the list. McLaine's turning 90 next year, former Oscar winner and icon. Her brother seemed a little frail for his 85 birthday and in recent appearances

1 pointI envision roughly 9 returnees (Attenborough, Akihito, Chomsky, Whale, R. Castro, Law, Redgrave, Farrakhan, Doherty). About time Michael Schumacher gets a debut on the DL, same for Leontyne Price, Michael York and Joan Plowright. Brian Blessed would also be an understandable addition, given his wife's recent death. Some surprisingly effective 2024 wildcards may be John Prescott, Michael Moriarty, Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump (if he goes next year, won't be natural death though) and Jeremy Clarkson.
-
1 pointUnfortunately Feinstein could not retire because Mitch McConnell would have refused to seat her replacement on said committee despite pleas for compassion from the Dems.

1 pointhttp://radaronline.com/celebrity-news/cher-dying-sells-property-gives-homes-family/Here's the news. RadarOnline also said that Zsa Zsa was dying in February and she is still with us. http://radaronline.com/celebrity-news/zsa-zsa-gabor-francesca-hilton-dead/ That's probably true as well. Nevertheless, she may be at risk. We should still keep an eye on her, in case other news starts to legitimately warn of her demise. All the comments say it's completeley fake. In fact it seems the usual Radar Online exaggeration/hoax.

1 pointI won't be going because I like my face in the form it is now. I'm also perfectly happy with the number of teeth I currently have. Is it really a good idea to have much of the deathlist elite at the same room at the same time? There could be some radical attempt to wipe you all out...
