I think War is the best song here, though Rose Garden carries nostalgia points for me as my grandparents loved to play older country music and it's one of the few songs I can explicitly remember being played. I didn't have much interest in "real people things" as a child so the songs I do remember are bound to have some sentimental value. Oh Pretty Woman was another song I have explicit memories of my grandparents playing, but then, Roy's on his own level entirely.

Shel Silverstein died on this day 25 years ago, aged 68. - Silverstein's first major job was as a cartoonist for Playboy, beginning in 1957. - Silverstein was also a songwriter who wrote Loretta Lynn's "One's on the Way", Johnny Cash's "A Boy Named Sue", "The Ballad of Lucy Jordan", which had multiple successful artists sing it, and he would also make his own songs: Other songs of his, such as "The Smoke-Off" and "Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout (Would Not Take the Garbage Out)" would receive regular radio play on Dr. Demento's radio show. - Silverstein is best known for his children's books, specifically 1964's The Giving Tree, and his poetry collections Where the Sidewalk Ends (1974) and A Light in the Attic (1981). He also made a children's-style book for older readers- Uncle Shelby's ABZ Book, written in 1960:

Olly is a great performer but not consistent vocally and can be hit and miss. I think an issue is that he sounds great in the arena, but the vocals are more easily identifiable as weak over broadcast. See how the jury performance goes tomorrow, but if it’s performed well tomorrow and on the night he could hit top 15. Switzerland or Croatia’s to lose at this point I think. Netherlands could sneak it via the televote. I love gay Christmas.

Not sure why you tagged me in this. I said nothing on the subject. I facepalmed your post because you seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding on what constitutes news. Dumb Reaper linked an article that states Carter was cognitively well enough to make a decision and cast a vote. That’s a valid update. I can scroll these pages and find endless examples of you posting complete non-news. No one is arguing that “well enough to vote” means Jimmy stopped by the election booth during his morning decathlon training.

https://themovementforward.com/letter/?utm_campaign=homepage Sign at the link. Dear Prime Minister, We, the British public, hereby write to express our collective vote of no confidence in your government. After 14 years of Tory chaos, enough is enough. Poll after poll shows there is no confidence in you or this government. We, therefore, demand a General Election NOW. It’s crucial to let us take back control and determine the future of our nation. Yours sincerely, The People of The UK P.S. We’d also like our democracy upgraded so our votes actually count, and we can vote with our values in future.

I only listen to the UK's entry and like go into the live final blind. I've been listening to Olly for 10 years (you could say years and years) however. The songs have been good but he's never been a great singer or a likeable, charismatic performer. I fear this could be his downfall.

I put Yung Miami on my list because of her ties with Diddy: either as an attempt to avoid jail or whatever other dumb reasons she had. She is notably named in a lot of the lawsuits and press this week. No pregnancy news yet though.

I'd like to see Patricia Routledge on the 2024 list. I'm a great admirer of her entire body of work.
