7 pointsMy sisters first single. Puppy Love. I'd convinced our mother I needed a typewriter for some reason (still can't remember why)....almost my very first test of it was to use the red ribbon to type 'this is shit' on the white paper cover of that single. No, I'm not proud of my actions. (well ok, sort of, but - y'know) On the flip side, my sister later became a PF, Genesis, Peter Gabriel fan and says she didn't know what she was thinking.....

Python Lee Jackson was actually an Australian band not a pseudonym for Rod Stewart. But since nobody can recall a single other thing they ever did, it's only ever remembered as being him even though he was technically a guest vocalist. You're so vain was purportedly written about Carly Simons ex Warren Beatty and whilst she has confirmed that parts of it are - she also stated it wasn't just him it actually was written about 3 different men and the other 2 remain unconfirmed. Stand for correction on that if my memory is a cheap cassette tape. In view of my previous ramblings - Life on Mars? was actually my first single. Not perfect maybe, but a fcks sight better than Puppy Love. Says me anyway.

3 pointsFrom what the previous 70s KoSs tell me, they were somehow even bigger in the UK than in the US. Some Osmond songs we killed in the past I didn't recognize the names at all. If I play a KoS round I'm going to educate myself on the songs I didn't know, but if it's an unfamiliar Osmond song I take that as a sign from God to steer far, far away!

3 pointsWill be visiting Kennedy Space Center on May 31 - June 1 to coincide with the 2024 U.S Astronaut Hall of Fame ceremony. I've not gone to KSC in a very long time and I don't know how the admission process is now and if the HOF ceremony is included in that, so I doubt I'll get to see it close enough to observe the astronauts. I should however be able to meet astronaut Tom Jones on the 31st, get my copy of his book "Sky Walking" signed and maybe have a chat if I'm lucky. I may know a lot about astronauts but I've never actually met one so it's going to be a great day either way.

3 pointsThis is great, but please allow me to do an atheist-friendly translation: Fire yourselves into the sun you bunch of corrupt, dangerous, immoral, irresponsble, stupid, odious, ignorant, greedy, despicable, inept, fraudulent, bigoted, fascistic, heartless, snivelling, delusional, treacherous, hateful, country-wrecking Tory cunts. Or just the simple and effective football chant..."DUH DUH DUHDUH, FACK THE TORIES, DUH DUH DUHDUH, FACK THE TORIES..."

2 points6th of may 2024 Hit n°10 Le roi Lire est mort Bernard Pivot, prominent TV host, journalist, writer and literary critic has died aged 89 to propel the score of our French deathlist into the dozens. Pivot was born in Lyon in 1935 and studied law before moving to Paris to pursue a formation in journalism. After having worked for Le Figaro, Pivot created his own literary journal called ''Lire''. He then moved on and became the host of the literary TV show ''Ouvrez les Guillemets'' from 1973 to 1974. That latter year, he founded the TV show ''Apostophes'', in which he received such famous and acclaimed writers as Marguerite Duras, Milan Kundera, Vladimir Nabokov or Françoise Sagan. The TV show ended up being one of the most famous program of the time and attracted 2 to 3 million viewers every Friday before its end in 1990. The next year, Pivot hosted another prominent cultural show called ''bouillon de culture'' in which he received figures of the literary, artistic, political and sport worlds. This illustrious program came to an end in 2001, an event which contemporary academician and historian Pierre Nora described as a "national mourning". After his successful TV career, Pivot was elected as a member of the Academy Goncourt, one of the most prestigious french literary prize : he then succeeded Edmonde Charles Roux as its president in 2014, an occupation he kept until 2019. During his lifetime, he also founded both the French Spelling Championships and the World Spelling Championships which came to an end in 2005 and wrote several books about literature, dictionaries and the experience of the reader. After his retirement in 2019, he experienced a period of ill health ans succumbed to a cancer while being picked at the 18th position this year.

2 pointsI like to think that, in a parallel universe somewhere, Sunak and his wretched 'rump' government are currently being dismissed by a modern day Cromwell who, in my imagination, looks and sounds exactly like Jonathan Pie.
