While I did get to see the Astronaut Hall of Fame ceremony in person for the first time, I have basically nothing DL wise to update you on unfortunately. Bob Crippen was there, as well a few Group 8 TFNG astronauts but they and every other astronaut who was there easily walked in and were well. I think what really stands out to me though, is this is first HOF ceremony to my knowledge where no astronaut from the pre-Space Shuttle programs attended (Joe Kerwin was there the last 2 years, Rusty Schweickart was there last year I think, Vance Brand used to attend till 2019.) and it clearly shows they won't be around for much longer. I can even compile a list of surviving astronauts before Group 8 because there are really that few left. Group 2 "New Nine" - Jim Lovell Group 3 - Buzz Aldrin, Bill Anders, Rusty Schweickart, David Scott Group 4 "Scientists" - Edward Gibson, Harrison Schmitt, Joe Kerwin Group 5 "The Original 19" - Vance Brand, Charles Duke, Joe Engle, Fred Haise, Jack Lousma Group 6 "The Excess Eleven" - Joseph Allen IV, Anthony England, Story Musgrave, Robert A. Parker (there is also Donald Holmquest, who never flew to space as he left NASA few years after joining and is completely under the radar) Group 7 - Bob Crippen

Ian Chester-Done 7/50 3rd June 2024 British actor William Russell has died following a decades-long career. Russell’s long film and TV career began in 1952, when he appeared in a minor role in the film Gift Horse. His big break came in 1956 when he got the title role in ITV’s ‘The Adventures of Sir Lancelot’, being the only actor to appear in all 30 episodes. However it was in 1963 he landed the part that would go on to define his career, Ian Chesterton in Doctor Who. Ian was in all but name the hero lead of the now iconic show’s first years, due to Russell’s younger age in comparison to Doctor actor William Hartnell. Russell appeared as Ian in 77 episodes of the show starting with the first episode in 1963 and lasting until 1965’s Dalek adventure ‘The Chase’. After Doctor Who, Russell’s career continued on both film and TV, appearing in Hollywood films ‘The Great Escape’ and 1978’s ‘Superman’. On TV he made appearances in Crown Court, Blackadder, Casualty, Poirot and in 1992 appeared in Coronation Street as Ted Sullivan, second husband of Rita Littlewood. However through it all, he couldn’t escape Doctor Who, in 1999 he returned as Ian to provide narration for one of the show’s missing serials, in 2005 he began recording audio-dramas with Big Finish (although not as Ian, at first). In 2013 he had a cameo as an elderly security guard in An Adventure in Space and Time, a drama detailing the creation of Doctor Who. Finally in 2022 he appeared briefly as Ian in ‘The Power of Doctor’, breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest gap between TV appearances for a character. William Russell Enoch died yesterday aged 99. He was making his first appearance on the Crowdsourced Deathlist, at no.37

Anyone else here think that Farage's sudden U-turn on standing as a candidate might have something to do with the new 'convicted felon' status of his buddy in America who he was planning to spend the summer with? I also reckon the financial woes over at GBNews might have played a role. This is his last desperate bid to stay somewhat relevant in the face of his last notable gob-venting outlet crashing and burning over the next year or so.

Young woman named Kelis arrested. Apparently her milkshake brings all the racists to the pier. (She might not be called Kelis).

Farage loves when this happens. More attention, more sympathy, more support.

Now, I like to check actors' IMDB pages for writing their DDP obits, as sometimes it can rustle up interesting trivia to spice up my own obits. (albeit in Miss Paige's case her fiery Columbo guest spot can spice up the obit all on its own) But other times the stuff can be really flimsy. Janis Paige's page (heh) has this newly-minted trivia piece: Good thing her final film wasn't named "Fiery Helicopter Crash"

I think a lot of people told him to stand. Of course, those were the voices in his head saying "Nige, you could actually win a seat, the Tories are in wipeout mode". It is simply self-advancement, self interest. A man who blames absolutely every ill the UK is suffering on immigration. Unfortunately, he has been handed that platform by a Government who has let it get out of control, but it is a ridiculous one issue party. First it was the EU, then Brexit wasn't done properly, now this. He's simply the National Front/BNP representative of today. As bad as Galloway. Forget the other issues about GB News etc, that is the real story here.

Watched the Scottish leaders debate last night. Fucking arseholes talking over each other making it impossible to hear who the better liar was. These bastard couldn't agree on the colour of shite. Was supposed to be a debate, not an argument no one could hear. [Rant over]

So, today Enzo Maresca's slightly bizarre promotion from Championship Leicester to Europa Conference League Chelsea has been confirmed. In my eyes it will all end in tears but we'll see. Anyway, I'm not complaining as it bags me a point! And also @ladyfiona and @MariNisia, who moves up to halfway complete! Poor Commtech now the only one not quite at 50%, but 6 points separates the field. Updated Scoreboard Great Uncle Bulgaria - 15 Sly Ronnie - 14 Wannamaker, Rover and Out - 12 Diego, Lady Fiona - 11 MariNisia, Bibliogryphon, Maryportfuncity, Buffalo Phil - 10 Commtech Sio Bibble - 9

Happened a few years ago too. Resulting in all McDonald’s shops not selling them when he was in town. Fantastic response from BK advertising they would still be selling them.

Robbed of life 6/50 2nd June 2024 Rugby legend Rob Burrow has died following an almost five year battle with motor neurone disease. Borrow joined Leeds Rhinos rugby team in 1999 and started playing for them in 2001 and very quickly became a valued and regular member of the squad. 2004 saw him joining England’s national rugby league team, playing in 13 games nationally. His career at the Rhinos saw him appearing 492 times for the team across 16 years, scoring almost 200 tries and earning over 1000 points. He retired from the sport in 2017, with his final match seeing the Rhinos beat the Castleford Tigers in the final of Super League XXII. Sadly in December 2019 Burrow revealed he had been diagnosed with MND, a horrific disease that damages motor neurons in the muscles. Since his diagnosis, with the help of former teammate Kevin Sinfield he has raised awareness of the illness and raised millions of pounds to provide care for those afflicted. In 2021 he was appointed an MBE and in 2024 a CBE. Burrow died earlier today aged just 41. He was making his second appearance on the Crowdsourced Deathlist, this year at no.19
