Herbert Rusche was a German politician (Green Party, later Pirate Parties) and LGBTQ activist. He was the first member of the German Bundestag in the history of the German Bundestag to openly admit his homosexuality. On March 12, 1984, Rusche was shot and slightly injured by a Neo-Nazi during a lecture on the issue of § 175 because of his homosexuality.
He died on December 22, 2024 at the age of 72, probably as a result of an earlier stroke.
I am really enjoying this round and I only needed to listen to a few of them to remind me. We have quite quickly weeded out some dross (and the odd gem) but just picking 10 to progress is really hard. I was only 10 in 1979 but had three older siblings so this music is really embedded in my psyche.
The Eighties rounds will be even better
You did, it pays to do research, and look thoroughly, first. But, you're a noob, so SOME of us will let that slide. Others, well, they'll berate and belittle you, cause they like to feel better than others. lol
So, it looks like the rule of three was actually not Hollyoaks or Big Brother, but Manchester City.
For Book was the captain of the title winning side in 1969. One of his team-mates was Bobby Kennedy who died on the 11th January, 2 days before Book.
3 City players dead in 6 days.
Colin Carter of prog rock band Flash, who did nothing in the UK but reached #29 in the States with Small Beginnings, reportedly dead: https://dmme.net/colin-carter-passed-away/
Got 10 minutes to spare?
What about Anja Pohjola (b. 1931)? I don't know if she's actually notable in Finland, mind, I just know of her from the intro to the show Hyvät herrat:
I'm not even sure of that anymore. If I've learned anything from the immortals thread, it's that certain jokers simply refuse to die, no matter how old, sick, and decrepit. It wouldn't shock me if two years from now, this thread is full of frantic posts saying "surely, surely, 2026 has to be the year he finally croaks!"
