themaninblack 2,112 Posted June 8, 2012 Who likes Jobriath clone David Bowie? Them that do might enjoy a BBC4 Bowie Night on the 22nd. Two newies, two repeats; think Ziggy rather than Tin Machine or drum & bass. Great to see him on the cover of the NME recently. Typically, the music paper still cannot stop itself over-hyping, even if it's a 40 year old album: "Pop's greatest masterpiece". It's not even Bowie's best album! Kudos points to the NME if it follows up with a Roxy cover to commemorate the 40th anniversary of their epochal debut, released just days after Ziggy Stardust, probably not though... Bibliogryphon 9,588 Posted January 7, 2013 Does anyone have any current info on David Bowie? One of my players picked him as a wildcard and said that he was not in good shape. I am thinking this is more than just having a history of poor living. Nothing on wiki.
Garn2 34 Posted January 7, 2013 Well he's been rumoured to have had liver cancer for years, though as far as I know, noting has ever been confirmed.

Rotten Ali 600 Posted January 7, 2013 Lives a slow lane life in New York. Sometimes seen at the TriBeCa film festival. This article says that his city pad is in the SoHo area. Heard that he lives just across the road from Moby. He keeps a low profile on the street but was photographed out and about 3 months ago looking quite well if a little on the thin side. Had a few heart problems, so he's not interested to push the limits anymore. I'm sure he could last another 20 years if he likes the hum-drum life. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2219928/David-Bowie-recluse-How-Ziggy-Stardust-turned-fame.html

harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,689 Posted January 8, 2013 Surprise! New single out, soon to be followed by a new album. It's all right I suppose, but not a patch on Little Fat Man or that prison song he wrote for Paul Nicholas in the mid-60s.

gcreptile 10,979 Posted January 11, 2016 My favorite artist. Huge personal influence, I might not even be living in Berlin right now if it wasn't for him. I will have to chew on this one for quite a while. Thank you for the music... and the other stuff..
