Thresholds for each round and if all pass the threshold then the lowest is ejected, repeat until 2 left. Contenders can also withdraw at any point, whether due to knowing the numbers don't add up, or due to a deal with a better contender. That is where the surprises will come from. I am slightly concerned that Penny Morduant will turn out to be this leadership elections Andrea Leadsom. As far as I can tell she has never been genuinely tested but she might play well with the traditional Tory membership. Not sure she will make it to the final two unless she can build some alliances

DevonDeathTrip 2,366 Posted July 7, 2022 Hopefully they'll all be lined up and shot in the fullness of time. Meanwhile, Javid would be my choice, for the simple reason that he knows what it's like to be poor.

Mordaunt is too competent to implode like Leadsom did. Mordaunt is popular on the social liberal wing as well and will get some votes from them.

Another up his own arse Hollywood luvvie who thinks the world gives a flying fuck what he thinks. Mr Grant goes to my gym, looks haggard as fuck, and when I'm working out the temptation is always there to go over and hook him in the jaw. 1

I think the prospect of either Ben Wallace or Tom Tugendhat facing Kier Starmer at PMQs would hopefully bring the level of debate up to a much higher level. I worry that the influx of UKIP types into the Conservative party means that we don't get that when the choice comes down to just two
