I saw him at the Birmingham Hippodrome on his Purple Van Man tour. I laughed myself a hernia. Best stand up ever IMO. And amazing on panel shows too. He mastered all corners of comedy, and the outpouring of tributes from the comedy world today show how revered he was. This news today has pissed me off. Big time. I feel like Iain. “Cecilia” has been paying her tributes to both Sean Lock and Austin Mitchell on Twitter. One more death today may push her over the edge. I remember thinking that was pretty good for a modern (or any era, I suppose) sitcom, probably because Lock's character seemed worryingly close to mine. I must re-watch sometime. Michael McIntyre he was not. RIP.

Did not think it was 10 years either. But then again, I binge watch all the QI series so often he is bound to be in at least one. Probably the only goatherd/comedian there will ever be.

TQR 14,391 Posted August 19, 2021 Another Locky compilation, this time of a series of 8 Out Of 10 Cats (not the Countdown one). A perfect example of his inimitable brilliance is at 4:40 where he does a bit about Julian Assange. Properly made me LOL again this morning.
Brad252 807 Posted August 19, 2021 Sean Lock did actually once joke about what he wants his obituary to sound like, which is in this clip between 0:27 and 0:53: Huge loss nonetheless
time 8,599 Posted August 28, 2021 Re Sean Lock, 15 Stories High is now available on BBC iPlayer. As I previously said , it’s well worth a viewing. (Obviously, if that’s your sort of thing. I’m aware there are people with no sense of humour ) 1

Ulitzer95 12,596 Posted October 18, 2021 Video here from June commemorating the 50th anniversary of The Comedians: Only Mike Goddard and Pauline Daniels from the original show are interviewed. Both look good, but more interestingly there's a clip in there of the show's producer Johnnie Hamp (wiki) just before his 90th birthday (which was in the first half of this year). He's credited with giving The Beatles and Cilla Black some of their earliest TV spots. Will definitely QO everywhere.
