Only so far you can go with crossing your eyes and sticking your chin out while talking.

Worked to a laugh track on his shows iirc, pretty jarring when other shows were going for the live audience. Plus Channel 4 comes along promoting the alt comedy scene and even though he was funny and new to us, he looked immediately old fashioned and out of date.

Doesn't seem to have harmed him though. Really kept him off my teams for a couple of years now, as wasn't sure he'd obit. But it's a quiet time for news, so he might.

He’s having his gallbladder removed, he’s not at death’s door.

Are the gallbladder problems connected with the cancer?

I think we don't know the kind of cancer, just that it's stage 4 with a good prognosis.

Gallbladder cancer stage 4 is pretty dangerous. Bladder cancer however is survivable. I'm currently thinking it's the latter.

I still think it is non-hodgkins lymphoma. Due the swollen lymph nodes and neck.If the cancer had spread from the gallbladder or bladder to the neck he would probably be dead as it would most likely have spread throughout the body to get to that point.

Yeah if it was stage 4 gallbladder cancer he would likely be dead by now.

Comedian, writer and TV actor Leslie Jordan, who received an Emmy Award for his role as Beverley Leslie on the hit series Will & Grace in 2006, died at 67 years:

Inquest into his death reveals that Leslie Jordan died from “cardiac dysfunction” and was dead before his car crashed.

Now, I’m no doctor but if they’re certain that he was dead before crashing then it sounds like his aorta may have ruptured, in which case he likely died instantly (Hollywood style if you like) so he wouldn’t have even known he was a goner. At least he didn’t suffer in any way.

Anthony Anderson has a Chadwick Boseman look about him and what is up with his arm? Looks like he's got a long scar down it.

has Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse doing an Out of Town/A Round with Alliss thing, and both mention heart issues.......

I'm going to say that perhaps old Bob Mortimer deserves his own thread.

Triple bypass a few years ago, hospitalised last year, now disclosing a flare up of an autoimmune disease: https://www.express.co.uk/celebrity-news/1732747/Bob-Mortimer-autoimmune-disease-flare-up-rheumatoid-arthritis-interview-news-latest

While he might be a distance off dying or not, he's certainly getting a lot of medical issues piling up.

Him and Whitehouse keep talking about they've probably only got another 5-10 years left on their fishing show and I keep thinking: "Steady on chaps, you're only in your mid-60s!" I know both have had heart issues but it's not an immediate death sentence, especially if you've changed your lifestyle like Paul Whitehouse has.

Mortimer seems to have issues every 9 months. Scattered posts across this thread, Hospitalised, etc. He'd certainly seem to be good value for a natter now and then until...well, let's not talk about that, he's hilarious.

I've updated the cast list for The Comedians again (see the spoiler below) to add a few names who were missing.

Dennis Jones, the Bradford impressionist died in 1993.
I've removed Jimmy Cricket because despite being listed on IMDb, he never appeared on the show.

As for passings since my last update, Blackpool stand-up Tony Jo died from cancer in January 2022, aged just 70. Local obit and Jimmy Cricket posted a tribute to him on his website here.

There's an obit for a Pat Tansey here from 2022, aged 70. I don't think it's him but I'm not certain. The individual died in Sunderland. Pat Tansey the comedian was Irish-born and lived in Bromsgrove, and according to a quick Google search was still performing in 2021.

I'm amazed that Stevie Faye is still with us at 96 considering that he's been so frail for years. He must surely be the oldest living comedian of note in the UK now.

SVU had been running for about six years when Jerry Orbach died?? He was meant to be a regular on Law & Order: Trial By Jury but was only in a couple of episodes before dying, and that show might have gone on longer if he'd lived.
