Thank you everyone. You have all been more empathetic than some of my family, though that is to be expected I guess.

You know what?

You are a wonderful, wonderful girl who is such a kind and warm person.

I can safely say that we all love you to bits here, you are so highly respected.

We are all thinking of you. x

My dad died in the early hours of this morning. It was expected, he'd been ill a long time and he reached a good age. He would have turned 91 in June.  I know I have been incredibly lucky to have had my dad around for as long as I have especially as he is another older dad, he was 47 when I was born, but this doesn't diminish the sense of loss and sadness although it hasn't fully hit me yet.

Condolences to all of those going through the same thing.

Sorry for the loss Handrejka. I remember when I lost my dad, you never get over losing a parent it just gets easier to accept they're gone. We're all Thinking of you and come post on the forums if you need to talk.

@Handrejka not sure how I missed your post.  So sorry to hear about your dad.  I was 47 when my daughter was born.  Sounds like you got many appreciative years with him.  Condolences and Prayers for your family.

Everyone's favourite thread, whoop whoop.

My great-aunt died from COVID in a care home in England. She was 3 months shy of her 100th birthday. She was the youngest of 7 siblings and therefore the last of her generation. I was lucky to know her quite well when she was living independently, and she would always talk about her service overseas during WWII. It's a pity that her burial wishes etc. can't be honoured, but we take solace in the fact that she died peacefully and it's doubtful that her incredible life would have gone on much longer.

Sorry for your loss Clorox. It is a huge lifespan nevertheless and you can hope that her genes have passed on to you!

Awful that this virus has hastened her death and my thoughts are with you and yours.

As I said to Handrejka recently,  it's still hard to lose someone so long-lived as it's hard to imagine them not being in the world.
