On the day his beloved Hartlepool slip out of the Football League, Jeff Stelling announces his departure from Sky after 25 years. He doesn’t appear to be unwell; he’s probably just had enough of listening to Clinton Morrison performing GBH on the English language every Saturday.

If the rumours are true, there will be some major super-injunction-related shit hitting the fan about Schofield in the next few days.

People are saying his exit from This Morning is the start.

Phillip Schofield releases a statement as he leaves ITV.

Précis: He met a boy, helped him get into television, then began an “unwise but not illegal” relationship with him after securing him a job on This Morning.

‘Groomer’ is trending on Twitter.

I haven't seen any part of This Morning for donkey's years. I have however been in the unenviable position of catching the odd snippet of the show on Gogglebox.

From an objective distance, it looks like the end of this sewer of daytime television is nearing its outflow. It wouldn't surprise me if they cancelled the whole damn thing in the near future.

Dermot O'Leary should leg it before the whole thing goes down.

The rest of them should be thrown on the dung heap of presenters - the Jeremy Kyle Pile, if you will.

Assuming the return of Big Brother means a return of the "Celebrity" version, I assume he will reappear on that in 5 years time. And be in the jungle within a decade. The new Michael Barrymore?

Looks like Schofield's career is defunct. ITV and his agent have dropped him.

Eamonn Holmes will be milking this development for ages.
