Will he make it alive till the end of his term in 2029? When he will be 82 and a half. Or will death, natural or man made,, finish him off?

There's still the chance he'll keel over from the excitement. Or from whatever Musk will be handing out at the viewing party.

I don't want to spam the death related threads too much, just this once, but Trump's issues don't go away just because he won the vote. His policies, like the tariffs, are still stupid. He made tax cut promises to everyone, got the muslim vote AND the hardcore pro-Israel vote, and so on and on.

You kind of hope that Musk and Thiel and whoever is in Trump's orbit, know what they're doing, and maybe even take over while Trump sundowns away. Well, I ALSO made the prediction that THIS thread will reach the 200 pages, something QE 2 didn't 'achieve'. And that prediction is more on the mark. I guess I had too much belief in the American voter.

I, like a lot of people, have always valued The Old Crem's political insights, there's a reason he's known as the Lee Atwater of Deadpooling.

Yeah, that's likely a better bet today than it seemed 24 hours ago. Let's not forget we're dead poolers. If you assume Trump has the brain patterning of a dictator the massive endorphin hit today will soon pale and he'll veer between strong beliefs in his own potency and extreme distrust of others advising him. Health wise the one major positive of that is his avoidance of recreational drugs and alcohol, otherwise it's all bad news up to and including a reckless disregard for medical advice on the basis Trump is best placed to manage his own issues. I think his behaviour that's been seen in those moments he couldn't control - like the nodding off in court and the fact the tonnage of papers he carried in and out of court were largely recently printed off postive social media posts from people supporting him - are an indication that the rumours about him self-medicating with ADHD meds are likely true. So, he medicates in the moment to control his mood, meaning there are peaks and troughs (the latter largely masked as he enjoys "executive time" dozes in front of the TV). He's telly tubby shaped with a persistent roll of fat around his 78-year-old body and whilst he can reduce the stress by pardoning himself away from some of the legal trouble once he's sworn in the other major stressor coming down the line is the fact he'll be president, so answerable for some major promises made and expected to lead the nation when the unexpected happens.

Symptom spotting will grow this thread, and given that we'll be looking for mental and physical ailments it'll likely stay lively. Also, all of the above suggests he'll have problems (more likely a blood pressure issue would mentally fog him in front of a crowd than kill him with a massive stroke), rather than a one-off medical crisis that takes him out of the game. So, yeah, he could easily grow his presence with us way beyond QE2.

Be interesting to see if he's a DDP Drop 40 in 2025

No shit sherlock. But extreme right wingers have a way of saying things that ordinarily hides their actual motives.

Genuinely what is the point of that post other than to wind people up? It's crowing because the comb-over idiot won. In this instance? Yeah I'll bite.

I wonder if there might be pardons for some of those doing time for the January 6 riots too - although I suspect he'd prefer not to remind everyone of that episode. And it's not as if any of those people could be useful to him now.

Hell, maybe Elon Musk has effectively pushed Steve Bannon out of Trump's orbit, so Trump doesn't get his own SA anymore. And there's no coup necessary if Trump wins legitimately.

Yeah, but pardoning them won't cost him votes. It's unclear if he intends to stand down after four years, or follow through on the claim he made campaigning about there being no need to vote after yesterday (i.e., he'll fucking abolish democracy as America has known it for a couple of centuries).

At least now we can't have our hopes continually dashed for four years

Starmer is constantly disappointing us because he doesn't seem to be moving fast enough to dismantle the damage 14 years of Conservative rule have inflicted on the country but if your expectations are zero you won't be disappointed

Starmer will likely face the same issue as most incumbents have faced. Being blamed for not improving now someone feels about the economy.

And with regards tomTrump they will be a lot of Tory politicians and media pressure for him to accept any trade deal Trump offers even if that furthers tensions with the EU.

Starmer will be blamed if four years of Trump and his protectionist tariffs cripples that economic growth he promised us, and trying to mitigate the damage by taking us back into the common market would also get him savaged in the press for 'breaking another election promise'. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes now.

Does anyone know if he paid for the shoes, or had them gifted?

It’s maybe hard to explain from YOUR and YOUR political side’s point of view. But it has not the majority in Europe. At least not in France, Netherlands, Portugal, Hungary etc…
