This is like Godfather 3 when he arranges to kill all his enemies at the same time

Or the breaking bad episode (gliding over all) which I'm guessing was inspired by the godfather 3.

Good result for Spain today, if that's the final figure.

Going by the fudging of the figures the UK should be -34 today.

Really is not going to happen. Trust me on this. No chance I am that confident I am going to put a conclusive number of 7,462 deaths and not one more.

I am starting to feel really embarrassed about that 7,462 figure I provided now

It's an old Essex saying Lardy.

I shall go back and change it to something more appropriate, ok?:D

Edit: It is done.

Oh look, we have cross-pollinated the virus back to the animal kingdom.  Either that or they've all been fed infected animals.

Eight big cats at the Bronx Zoo have been discovered to have tested positive for COVID-19. Staff at the Bronx Zoo, which has been closed since March 16, first reported that a four-year-old female Malayan tiger named Nadia had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 5 and that three other tigers and three African lions were also showing similar symptoms but had yet to be tested.

I find it interesting that it's just cats and big cats only.

Peter Hennessy on R4 just now, eloquently arguing for a "new Beveridge of our times" and a new duty of care for each other, but also making the point that the UK death toll now equates to a third of British civilian deaths in WW2.

Or, slightly less dramatically, around 3-5% of the annual UK death toll.

In just over one month though - multiply by 12 to annualise impact.

7,000 UK civilians died in WW1 so we are almost 3 times that amount  through Covid-19

Not necessarily.  We don't know how many of those who were already ill would have died within the year anyway.
