2 pointsInterment ! Not internment ! I can't believe how many people get this wrong, people who really should know better. I'm going to start a Society for the Protection of the Word Interment, because it seems to be in danger of going extinct.

2 pointsJust a reminder that starting this month, your first posted team is your team for the month, mistakes and all. If you play someone who is already dead, or that violates one of the 3 rules of the game, you will play the month with no chance for scoring at that slot. When I first saw Quim Reaper's Team, I thought he had been the first to slip up as he put John McCain in the 4 point spot after Exu had already posted him there. But lo and behold, the wily Quim made a legal pick as Exu played McCain last month, thus violating the consecutive months rule. So McCain is an active pick for Quim, while Exu will play short handed in May. Nice job, Quim. That's why he's in 3rd place and a contender. I don't usually like to forego my shot at the double point potential on the last day of the month, but this month I am going to submit my team early as I think getting Bush on the roster is going to be a good move. He's grieving AND feeble, not a good combination even for a tough old bastard such as he. I have updated April scores to include a 4 pt hit by Sean (Michael Anderson), which gives us a new leader by a single pt margin. I will post a May table once we get most of the teams in. My May team: rosalyn carter Kenny Rogers GHW Bush Jose Jose danny farquhar

1 pointShould have ran a forum poll on Boothroyd outliving him. Slam dunk imo. Anyhow, one of the first replies on Sky's Breaking news tweet about him dying? "I hope he's OK!" It's like fucking clockwork!

1 pointHe's an eco-warrior for sure but I don't think they'll give him an internment for being so.

1 pointI hate Rangers and I hate Steven Gerrard so I am quite hopeful about this appointment. Joey, Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic are one of the top non-league sides in Scotland. The juniors (a league structure entirely independent from the Scottish league, due to... reasons and pride) refused to be involved in the league system, but last year Kelty decided to jump to the East of Scotland league and pissed it easily. So that, combined with the SJA apparently having a Chief Executive shite even by football exec standards, meant a survey was done of club chairmen in the junior system. "Do you want to join the league system and leave the Juniors?" And like Brexit, they didn't get the answer they expected. Something like 66% of junior clubs went "Aye, sounds a plan to me", and now 17 of the eastern (ie Edinburgh/Lothian) sides have applied to join the East of Scotland league, and a bunch of the top Clyde valley sides (like aforementioned Arthurlie) want in on the act if they can sort out a West of Scotland league within the pyramid. So yeah, big if it happens. And yeah, if Bonnyrigg fucking Rose (sorry its not a juicy scandal you expected! ) and Pollok want in the league structure, the junior system is long term fucked. Right, kept that succinct, but my favourite bit so far is this bit at the end of the BBC statement from Auchinleck Talbot opposed to the merger: Translation: we don't want to join up, but since we're going to, we're going to fuck up the rest of the league, get it right up yas...

1 pointSometimes the stars align. It's God, The Fates, whatever. So I JUST so happen to rig down and come home 24 hours ago. It JUST so happens to be my favourite Acadian festival of all, the Festival International (4 band stages throughout downtown Lafayette, LA, million people, brews flowing, great food, art fair, the works). All the bands have some ties to French speaking cultures, in general, and it's 3 days of fun. So we go tonight, zero expectations other than shopping faux African stuff etc in art fair area, which my daughter and I were doing, and I hear from a nearby bandshell unmistakably the voice of Azam Ali! I grab my kid...CMON....I know this band! Never in one million years did I ever think I'd see one of my favourite bands, they just don't tour the States (or anywhere really) that often. But there they were, Azam Ali and NIYAZ! Free of charge! My daughter liked it, I was beside myself, and it was a fantastic hour. Sir Creep does what he always does which is get a play list from the stage, signed if possible, and go backstage and meet the band. A few pick with Ms. Ali and both myself and my daughter.....what a night. And to think I had no idea.... SC

1 pointMove to 'political' thread if you like but re: Alfie, no court should tell a parent how to medically TREAT their child. This isn't a statement re: NON-treatment like goddamn anti-vaxers etc, where the parents are choosing NOT to treat the child. But in this case the court has zero interest greater than the parents. They turned a human being into a chattel. *descends soap box*

1 pointThere was one footballer who had one week to live back in May of last year. Can’t be bothered to remember his name though. Since I’m not expecting two deaths to bring me in the lead in the next 48 hours, I would like to congratulate @Sir Creep on your win against me. Ultimately, my prediction for our match turned to be correct, which is either both having high scoring match, or me falling behind you. However, even if some of my subs replaced the poorer picks, this outcome would remain the same. Ultimately, I’m just proud of making an improvement from last round, which saw me go from round one last year to round three this time. I’m not necessarily going to root for you next round (I mean, the opponent is Dead Cow, another one deserving to win), but I do wish you luck in the next round.

1 pointRecently a mod who will remain nameless asked me if I'd looked up the Pie n Bovril forums lately. So, given Cove Rangers won 4-0 earlier in a promotion playoff, and the Beeb were giving it fuck all coverage (insert "cuntos here) I thought I'd go check out the non-league forums there. Find out Threave won the South of Scotland league (6th tier) but also see a reference to the "junior football shake up". Me being a curious sod, I go to the junior football section. (My first game was a trip with the Auld Yin to see Arthurlie nearly 30 years ago - and they were shite...) What's that? A thread with 302 pages, covering a month? Let's have a wee glance at the gist. That was 6 hours ago! I'm on Page 178, it's nearly 2 in the bloody morning, and I'm going to have come back to it in the morning to find out what happened to Bonnyrigg fucking Rose and their league application so far.

1 pointUnder-30 motorists. I'm a 21-year-old white male and I drive a Focus RS. In the eyes of Essex Police, this fatal car/demographic combination clearly means I'm a drug dealer. And an insurance fraud. And a car thief, serial speed offender, drink driver, stabbist, you name it, I'm it. Because this morning at just gone 6am was the fourth time this year I've been pulled over by a cop, for no apparent fucking reason. I mean granted, I do have 3 points on my licence, and yes, most drivers of that car are older than me, and sure, it isn't exactly an inconspicuous car as it is. But Jesus river dancing Christ I'm getting bored of it now. Does anyone else have a problem with their local pigs not having their fucking priorities right?

1 pointAye but it's not a recent video. The interview segment looks exactly the same as the one on her 110th birthday, and at the 110 club they're saying this might've been filmed as early as 2012. When you translate the article from the Japanese it makes reference to problems with her foot, so she probably can't walk properly any more (yes, I have been known to snoop about the 110 Club forums, shamefully).

1 pointWhat about her? Has she died? Celebrated a birthday? Fallen ill? Been officially recognised? We can't all read Japanese on here so would help if you added some context to your post.
